By the way if anyone wants to look at it and tell me what they think that'd be nice too. I'll be putting a logo on there when my friend who's making it is done with it.

Yeah I got one of those too, it's just that I never really got into that site as much as this one, and I also wanted to put info about my MFLS team by the same name, on the site as well. so it just made sense for me to just go totally outside of the hattrick system to set up my site.

did you notify KindaChing, the guy in charge of the tournament so that you get a win, and possibly a match up with me again if I win as well. ;)

I did. I waited as long as I could for my opponent to accept and then on Monday told him of my predicament. Got a friendly arranged late last night. Thx.
See you in the next round?

That's the way things go on hattrick, you think you make a good deal but then you find out it took one week for that skill jump and an extra $200,000 gets added on to the price tag. You got mother club money from that though didn't you? which would mean you got around $25,000 for being mother and last club, which isn't terrible for you, I mean that money covers you for one week of a crappy youth pull.

well I'm back and posting here after being away for the holidays. Pulled a solid playmaker and passable defender with some inads which I'm trying to sell.

Well I couldn't control my itchy finger and blew my one million bank balance on a formidable defender.
My first ever purchase of a player over $1 million.
Hattrick buddy valued him as $1 million and I paid $1.1 million, so I don't think I overbid too much.
I am gonna give him a run out in my friendly tonight and see how he does. He'll probably blow his ACL or something!!

Well I won my cup game 2-0 against a team with a strong defense but no offense and my team was able to score 2 early goals that held up for my good defense. We'll see who I play next week.

I was thinking Wolff!! :)
I did manage to win 4-0 away against a rather weak team and play the organizer of the cup next week.
We could easily do a BigSoccer cup using this thread next season. After say week 7 or so see who is out of the cup (most of us) and run a four or five week cup contest.
They make friendlies a little more interesting. Cause some smack talk on here too.

Exactly, we don't need a conference for a bigsoccer tournament, I mean like I said earlier in the thread about possibly making big soccer invitational, we could do the entire tournament on here, put the tournament games and scores up here and all that. The problem is though, when I put the idea up, I only got 2-3 replies on the topic so I don't know how everyone else on here feels about the idea.
I mean if we did the tournament, I know it could make some people feel inferior, but everyone could play the same number of games and rank the teams from the best team on big soccer to the not-best(LOL), that way there would be the same number of games for everyone.
Sign me up.

Speaking of making them interesting...
Would you (I mean all of you) prefer a home-and-away kind of tourney, a WC kind with a 4 team round robin, single elmination from game 1, or what? And why?
And how would else could we make it more interesting?

Well so much for a Mongrel vs. Rangers rematch, I play the Maryland Renegades (the team that hosts the outside results page for the tournament) this next week in my friendly. Looking at his last game of the tournament, looks like me and him will have a pretty even game, while he is a little better at defense then me, I have a little better attack then him, so it seems to balance it's self out. At least this week I don't go against super defenses like I have the past two weeks. Plus looking at it, I'll have the better midfield which is always a good thing.
On the idea of the tournament, if we got enough people it'd be interesting to do it like world cup style, but A.) I don't know if we have enough bigsoccer people to do that and B.) I don't think there's enough time in one season to do a tournament of that size. And like I had said in an earlier post, I can help with it, just not next season, as I will not be in the country, and therefore will not have as ready access to a computer as I do now.

I was just looking at some match stats, for a player I'm looking at getting, and I noticed that hattrick added something to the match results page for the games, they've added the highlights of the match, the goals and cards that are given out. I really like this thing, it gives people who just have a chance to check score and scores a good opportunity to do that. Just makes it that much better. I love this game. :)

Well yesterday kicked off the Qualifying Round of the Lone Star Cup VIII, and it doesn't look good for me. I lost the home leg of the 2-game aggregate series 2-1 in overtime. This might be the first time I don't qualify for my own tournament............

Crucial weekend for my series (IV.28) which will go a long way to determining the final standings.
The teams placed in 2, 3, 4, and 5 all play each other.
I am in 3rd and play the 4th place team at home. The team in 5th plays at home against 2nd.
The team in 5th is arguably the strongest and just ended its cup run to a Major League team and sold out its 95,000 seat stadium in the progress. Big money to be spent there.
I lost the corresponding match 6-1 away, my club's heaviest defeat. We both MOTS last time and I will again this time. My TS is pretty good at the moment.
He likes to attack through the middle and has a stronger midfield than me. I have my new formidable defender into strengthen my central defense.
My counter attacking isn't that good and attacking on the wings (I did this last time) proved to be disastrous.
I may be tempted to attack through the middle also and play one of both of my wingers towards the middle to strengthen my inner midfield.
Choices, choices ...

I'm finding a lot of people doing that...shifting wings a wing in the middle...I started trying it out when I started checking the national team matches out.
AOW worked okay for me in the part of the season...of course last week I did something extremely stupid...
AOW and moving both IM's toward the wing is very bad...got clobbered 8-0 in a friendly :-)
