I lost to Kuhnscoot in a shootout. 7-4 I think it was. Thankfully nobody injured on either side.
On to the really good news, My coaching prospect bumped up to solid experience as a result of our friendly against the Kuhnscoot's Raytown Rangers. Thanks a bunch man! :)
My first V & VI Cup match is away against GC Kickers (71334) of V.144 - he's been playing since season 18.
Looking at HatStats, he ought to win, but we are talking about our B teams here (I assume).

Get your middies/wings stamina up. It's the best thing you can do early on in your HT career as it pays instant rewards (despite the form loss)

Merry Christmas to me part 2!
My long awaited starting IM finally bumped to Solid. And a young trainiee bumped up also. Wasn't expecting that one.
Also had a decent form update for a change. 5 Up and 2 Down with 14 unchanged. Finally have my starting keeper up to Inad. Both keepers went consistently down since the stamina camps. Badly needed boost to my defense right before I take on the #2 in my series.
Time to go scout the opposition's form...
Nuts. His star IM is now listed as bruised but playing. Was hoping he'd be out for our first match. Figured on him playing in the match next weekend. Makes my move up in the rankings much more difficult.... Wonder if he'll play... Interesting to see what my opponent's strategy will be.
Also, my spirit is back down to content. This week it was delerious, then satisfied and now, content. Really hard to keep up the spirit with my current coach and his leadership abilities. I've really been trying to manage the spirit thing better this year. But my coach is a poor leader.... wait, I just checked, he lost a level in leadership sometime this season. Good thing I've got 1 coach ready for the position at the start of next season (my biggest reason to get outta debt) and a possible one that I'm grooming for the future...geez.

With a nice training bump I have my first ever "outstanding" player.
Formidable seems a better word but I guess I'll settle for outstanding :)
That should see a better midfield rating for me.

Yes indeed, 7-4 in a shoot out, good game it looked like. You are welcome for the exp. bump.
My first V &VI cup match is agianst the Verona Rampage(8617), they are second in their Div. 5 series, and have only allowed one goal all season in league, so I'm expecting to lose, but I am also sending my B team in to gain the experience

This is something that I have been thinking about for a few days, and a little off and on with all these different cups going on in hattrick. What about next season, having something like a bigsoccer cup for all the people on here that have a hattrick team? Just thought that I would throw this out there and see what kind of reaction that it got. I personally coudl be in charge of it after next season, because I leave to study abroad in London for a semester, and will miss most of season 22, I will keep my team, I just won't be able to do a lot of work on it, and therefore not be able to run a tournament.

I'll send in my registration form and fee for that cup. :)
(my HT connection seems spotty at the moment. Got my fingers crossed that it survives the weekend without another crash.)

I'm having the same problem, hattrick is really slow right now.

I am having problems getting in as well, I have a player close to the deadline on the transfer list. I hope they extend the deadline. :(

Another huge match for me today, away at #8 (I'm very haughty at #7). A point would be ok. A win would be great. A loss wouldn't be in the least bit surprising, but it'd be devestating. I've got delerious team spirit, so if he doesn't mots, I should be in good shape.
BTW I pic'd my seventh round cup match, at home to a team just as good as me, but he walkovers coming up and MOTsed. And I still made it very, very close. So maybe team spirit is a lot more important then I've led on.

Well my game today is against the number 7 team in my league, I'm number 3. I'd PIC, but the team has bought a new player recently for a decent amount, so I don't know if I should, I probably won't and just beat them on normal.

I got beaten like a gong. Unbelievably humiliating. I was hoping the coaching change and my recent run of good results were a sign things were looking up. I was sorely mistaken. I assume he MOTsed, but still, an inexplicable result.
At this point it'll be a relief to go back to division iv. This is just too depressing.

Thought I was in for a tougher match as he got his star midfielder back. I won the battle of possession though with 64% and 71%. I also forgot to take into account the fact that he has been playing a 4-4-2 since the injury to the star midfielder. His team suffered numerous bouts of confusion due to his inexperience with the 3-5-2.
Score: 4-0 - a nice shutout win.

Should be real interesting next week at his place. Will he MOTS? Will his increased experience in the 3-5-2 pay off? Will my poor leadership coach haunt me next week with a reduced team spirit, coupled with playing away? Tune in next week for the conclusion of this nail biting saga...
I deserve to be #2 in this division in my opinion. But I'm going to have to manage my spirit much better from here on out. Think I'm going to invest in a new coach early.... Don't think I can afford to wait the rest of the season. He's a weak coach with poor leadership by the way.

I heard some one mention that 'Confidence will help you finish your chances'.... unless you have high confidence vs a lesser opponent. The exact danger of high confidence vs. a lesser opponent is overconfidence. You only have to worry about that with wonderful confidence, maybe with at least one psychologist still on staff, maybe only against the last place team.
