Looks like I am gonna lose in the cup, losing 2-1 at HT, he has 70% of possession.

My PiC isn't helping, but I have too as my team are already "furious"

Not a bad site. I'm losing my friendly 3-nil. Chose a formation I haven't used by mistake. I was hoping to get the 5-4-1 to at least passable for this weekend. I'm playing a team that I have had no luck against so I'm picing it and hoping counter attacking will pay off.

as expected I lost my PIC match to a V.III team. I've already challenged a few of you. Accept or provide a counter proposal. Or please challenge me if I've left you out. I'll probably get up early tomorrow and accept the first response.......

FYI...I've now got 800+ members in my fan club.

Yeah I went and checked that, looks like both will be healthy enough to play in the league match, which is 1 verse 2 (me). So I'm definitly putting my starter in.
My question then becomes, the game is away, should I play this one normal, and wait until I play them at home to MOTS? Or should I MOTS now? My schedule the two weeks after this are against the 3 and 4 teams in the league, so I'm leaning towards the second time I play them because I'll be on the down swing of my schedule, with games against the bottom three teams to end the season.

If it's a domestic friendly, you want to play it at the stadium that will draw more people. The most important things to consider are number of supporters and supporter mood. (Weather, too, but that's not likely to be available at the time the match is booked unless you book it at the last minute.)

I'm still in the Cup after winning on pks. I swear the cup is getting a lot more challenging (although the first 2 rds vs bot teams is nice.)

I lost 3-2 and made a nice amount of money as my opponent drew a good crowd to his place.

I already accepted a challenge, but I will up for a friendly next week.

My 4 round run in my first ever cup was nice. Sure did like that revenue. I'm out after losing my match 4-0. I think I may have posted that already. sorry...

Glad I MOTS'd my 3rd match though. The money from the 4th match was pretty nice considering I've got one of those 2 week away game stretches. The money from that match almost equated to one of my sellouts from last year.

Looking at my revenue/expense projections last night for the rest of the season, I see that it was even more important for me to get that fourth match. I'm gonna have to sell off some trained players this season and or get some good youth pulls. I'm continuing to heavily scrutinize my personel and decide who is really necessary and who isn't while still trying to maintain competiveness. I do want to win my series afterall.

Got a couple of players targeted for sale, when the opportunity (and form) arises.

Back to those revenue figures,,, next year, I may take the cup even more seriously. That extra income can really provide an advantage in the long run in exchange for possibly sacrificing a chance to compete for the top spot in the league - especially if the series is tough enough.

Most of the teams in my series played their A squads in both the cup and the league games? I played my PIC'd B squads in my two early league games (resulting in 2 ties) and PIC'd with my A squad in the 3rd league game (for another tie). How did you guys approach the cup vs. league dilemma? And what did the rest of your series do?

Next season I'm going to play with my 1st team all the way through in the Cup. I could have won the 2nd Cup match, but decided to pic it and use most of my B side. If I could have done it all over again, I would have had the squad be 50/50 and played it normal.

Training my youngsters has been my main priority so generally I play most of my reserves in the cup and PiC.

I switched that a little this year as I did want to go a little further.

However, a crucial league match the week before forced me to MOTS and left me no choice but to PiC the cup match and led to my exit.

Next year I may try to go a little further in the cup, the revenue surprised me. I have never received that much from cup matches before.

And what did the rest of your series do? I didn't have any hard choices this season. My second cup game was against a very beatable opponent in a derby, so I was able to go with my cup "B" squad (I don't clear the bench, but I do leave out one or two top players that I don't want injured). My third cup game I really wanted to win, but that week I had a pushover in league so I played my cup "B" squad in league and played the first choice in the cup game.

As far as I can tell, most of the rest of my league plays the "A" squad for both league and cup games.

For the most part it depends on how your league and cup schedule turns out, like Craig said, if you face a week opponent in league and you really wanna win your cup game, you can play your b in the league game or vice versa. I played 5 or 6 back ups in my last two cup games, while I used 8 or 9 in my first game. I always left one of my starting strikers in the game, because while I'm training scoring, I still wanted to have a scoring punch on the field.

my first promoted player that didn't get fired in 2 minutes!! he's not all that good. He has three inadequte skills. if i train for one season, i could probably make a whopping 15,000... wait... then takes away his salaries and i'll end up with like 8000.
