I haven't felt an attendance hit yet, but I'm spending a lot on spokesmen.

I have been training my defenders for a little while and want to keep with that strategy for at least this season. The other teams are way ahead of me with PM and I can't catch up very quickly.

So I can tell I will be losing the possession stats and inner mid battle and therefore lots of matches.

I am hoping I can suffer the relegation lightly and come back after a couple of seasons in div 5 strengthening my inner mids then.

I already have a couple of solid defenders and other youth pulls in there at passable I think. So I am thinking I can sell one or two of those to keep me safe economically next season.

What do you think? Once your youth system gets up to excellent, you can rely on at least the occasional useful player for your lineup or the market. Takes a while to get up there, but it's worth the wait.

It's better to stay up than go down - but if you do get relegated, you'll probably win a lot more games and get your supporters back eventually. I don't think the drop from IV to V is the end of the world. Unless for some reason it happens to me.

I tried to sign up for this once, and for some reason was not able to. How do I get involved in this game?

Sorry, it didn't register in my head that you challenged me. After getting upset in the USA Cup, I went on a 6 day drinking binge.....what's weird is that the match was played only 2 days ago.

LiverpoolFanatic:

Not sure what to tell you, except go to the website and try again.

But be forewarned......Hattrick addiction is serious stuff. I couldn't get that monkey off my back if I tried.

What training intensity does everybody use?

I pushed mine up to 95%, but now I don't know if that is too much

100%...but then again 4 of my players are injured.

I've got my training set at 96%, and I don't have too many injuries, but man, when they happen, they happen bad. Just Sunday I got my third 8-week injury in the last 2 seasons, and my second most valuable player. I guess I need more doctors.

I've got something like six physios, so I can crank out the training at 100%. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a guy hurt himself in training.

All I know is that before the new season began, I cranked my training up to 100%. Since then I've had 2 starters out for 2 weeks and 5 weeks respectively, another starter bruised but playing through the pain, and a backup midfielder out for 2 weeks. All this in, what, less then a month? Sheesh.

I went back to 95% 2 weeks ago to see if it helps.

20 levels of form increased in 2 weeks (according to HAM).......let's rock.

I've played HT since Nov. 2001 and I've been training at 100% since my second week and I've never had a player injured during training. I don't get very many injuries, either.

How many physios do you have? How many players do you have? Do you play friendlies every week?

I think people are talking about two different things - I've never had a player injured during training either. Friendlies, yes. Competition matches, yes. In fact, 4 or 5 (including my coach, who's been at 2 weeks for half a season) injuries right now.

I have 9 physios and 9 doctors. I've got 28 players but I soon hope to shave that down to 23 so I can have two teams. I do not play my starters during friendlies. I am always playing friendlies and I would never miss an opportunity to do so, ever ever ever ever. Did I say ever? But I do get injuries, just not like you guys, it seems. Good Luck, Fellaz!

My two best midfielders got yellow cards in the cup match tuesday, and both have red cards next to their name. But in the match orders for Sunday's match (which happens to be against the team for which I'm tied for first, on the road no less), their names aren't red-lettered as injured players are. Are they ineligible for sunday's match? For next wednsday's cup match? And hypothetically speaking, would they be suspended for a friendly match?
I hope somebody can reply quickly, because my third best midfielder's out injured, and all this couldn't have come at a worse time. The cup match is against another 1st place team in div4. Luckily I've got 600thousand pounds in the bank if I need to pick up a couple of old geezers to get me through this rough stretch.

My guess is that they'll eventually be marked out, marked red... I'm not sure if there is a cup only card system, I thought it was the same as regular season...

well too late for your cup match, but red-carded players just don't turn red in the lineup page. they'll be replaced at kickoff by your subs, whichisn't fun. that's what happened to me this past weekend when i forgot that my wingback was suspended.

d'oh!

by the way, cup and league cards all go into the same big pot. and suspended players can't play in friendlies either, though friendlies won't count as their suspension game.

and fasito, i guess it's that 9 physios and 9 doctors that explains your lack of injuries.

while i'm at it, indy, how can you get by with 10 total assistants? i hired a tenth and saw my form drop.

Form goes up and down regardless of number of asst. coaches. You can train 'general' to raise form if you need to....or play thru it.

To those of you who play the US transfer market, have you noticed a trend for when players garner the most? I'm guessing it would be either a few hour after league or cup games, or when there's nobody else on the transfer market. But I really haven't taken a good look.

In the past, I've been most likely to put someone up between Saturday night and sunday night EST, meaning his time is up between Tuesday night and Wednesday night, but often I find someone will turn around and get more for the same player a few days later, without any increase in skills. So I'd like to time it right and get an extra 20-30% out of it, if anyone can give a pointer.

Thanks,

Nick

Middlesex,

How many assistants do you have? I'm only concerned because of the ambiguous wording in the rules - I believe it says, in different spots, that "10 or more coaches", or "more than 10 coaches" can cause negative effects. And while my form surely fluctuates all the time, I saw 2 straight drops in average form, a week of holding pat, and then another bad drop. So it's clear that I've been on a downward trend since I hired the 10th.

I am vehemently opposed to General training but i had some of my best players in inadquate or worse form so i traiend it and got great results...Just about every other time though it was a massive waste of a week so general, i am still not sold.

I try to avoid training General like the plague, since it takes away from training Playmaking. However, the end of last season and the first few weeks of this season saw a form drop like I've never experienced in the history of my club (most high-end starters at weak or worse). It was unreal. I hit General twice to end the season, to no avail.....but hitting it twice recently FINALLY pulled me out of my funk.

Other then that I typically only train form before a playoff match, or after stamina training.
