Anyway, my youth squad is considered
"inadequate" right now. Is there any point trying to promote a player from the youth squad?

If you're not on a strict financial diet, pull one, it just 2k I think. My squad is passable after starting in week 3 this season. Finally pulled a decent player. An 18yo passable pm. It is just a matter of time.

Same goes for any four-forward formation. In addition, four inner midfielders or four central defenders are illegal. Beyond that, anything goes (although the remaining oddball formations like 2-5-3, 5-2-3, 5-5-0 cannot accumulate experience, so you get confusion all the time).

hey I have a question, I've been training goalkeeping for a while, and just this week I had both my keepers up one skill level one to solid and one to passable.
I'm thinking that I should sell the passable goalkeeper next week after promoting a new backup, because I can make some good money off of him. My starter, the solid, is 19, turns 20 in the next few days, and my back up is the passable and turns 21 in the next few days. So what I think I should do is wait until I make a new youth pull, and make sure the keeper is at least an inad and then sell the 21 year old to get some decent money. I guess I'm just asking for an opinion on the idea if it's a good idea or not? I want to keep the solid because he is younger but don't know if I should sell or keep the passable back up and hope for a inad or better goalie pull.

Relatively speaking, passable keepers aren't worth much. I think TPE had mine around $80k before he popped, and I've been hearing that the keeper market is a bit depressed in the U.S. One thing to keep in mind is that until he hits excellent, he's competing against untrained YPs.

Well this is my first season in III, and I think I'm going to get killed... I can compete, but only if I do some PIC-MOTS-PIC-PIC magic with the Cup raising my TS after my MOTS... I have some real good strong young players but I fear they won't have an effect untill the season after next... Should be interesting to see how it works out, cause anything over a qualification match to stay in III is a bonus... I figure with the Cup in the first half of the season I'll be able to steal a couple of games...

Now I also have another option... I could just throw the season, I have a 20 year old outstanding PM and a 19 year old Brilliant starting midfielders... My trainiees are 3 17 year olds, 2 excellent and 1 formidable PM'ers... I could sell the 2 older guys and buy 2 new trainees, should I keep them and run the season or should I sell them and just run a full trainee team?...

Aye, I'm in the same boat. This is gonna take some getting used to, after five seasons with an 86% winning percentage. I've never been much for MOTsing and PICing and I've never PICed a game because I thought I couldn't win it. This seasons going to be different. In one div III league I followed last year, a guy took 6th place with only 9 points (and goal difference). I'm hoping my league will be similar. That takes some long-range thinking, to plan ahead enough to say "hmm...if I win one of my first four matches, and one of my second four matches, that'll leave me six matches to try to get four points..."
Oy, if I don't win my first match (at home against the other newly promoted team) I've got to play away at #2 and home to #1. What a f--king welcome wagon.

Well I believe I can get 6 points from one team and maybe see what I can do against the new promoted teams.

11 points was good enough for 6th place last season.

Going to try and go all out in the Open Cup.

Also does anyone else thing that cross passes(winger) is a bit confusing? I mean if I want to train winger, it should just say winger.

Just curious... Didn't know if you actually lived in Korea or just support them...

Very similar to me. I have to try and figure out where I can pick up some points.

It is gonna be really difficult.

I would be very surprised if I stay up this season. I don't have enough money to upgrade my team and like everyone else am hoping for a great 17 yp tomorrow so I can get some much needed cash to strengthen the weaker parts of my team.

The excitement is all in the first youth pull of the new season.

Can you pick the elusive solid/excellent 17 year old?

I did get a solid youth pull today, pity it's in passing and he's 19 :(

I have had an excellent youth squad for two full seasons and this type of pull kind of pisses me of.

Yeah I got an inad defender and he is up on the transfer list.

Want to know what sucks? My roommate who has been playing less and not as long as me gets a SOLID playmaker. :(

yea you don't even wanna know what I got, let's just say that his best skill was a poor. Needless to say, he is now "wandering aimlessly on the teams practice fields. His days of glory are clearly past." And this is after my youth squad was upgraded to solid just before this week.

I snagged a 17 yo passable winger. horrible stamina and little passing ability. But after my first season's pulls, I'm happy with passable pulls.

Don't hate dead week as you can vote for me for the U20 coaching job. So far I have one vote. :D
