this is going to be a dumb question... but here it goes anyway.
in the rule book, it says you can play some tactics like "pressing" or "counter attack" How do i set the tactics?
it says "You use the regular order form to choose tactic." but i dont freaking see any tactic changes anywhere. just "team attitude."

At the moment you can only use the tactics for friendlies. It'll be where the "team attitude" button normally is.

I can now PIC my last game in prep for a relegation match.
Lost my other CD and my star winger to suspensions for next week. But, like I said, my last game doesn't matter much.
Been an interesting season. Really looking forward to the next one, my first full one - cup and all. SPeaking of which, Does the first cup game happen prior to the first league match? Or when does the first cup match begin? And do I have to do anything to be entered into the cup competition?
And thanks but a friendly has finally been arranged.

Won 4-nil with my solid 18 yr getting 2 goals. Was only 1,998 people from selling out. So now I sit at 5th place and guarenteed to at least have a play off game. Hopefully I will be hosting that.
Had a chance for 4th, but I had to win today and next week and hope the other guy lost both games.
Oh well alot better considering where I was a few weeks ago. :)
Less that $50k in debt so hopefully I can get even on my travel midweek and then at the playoff game, sell out. :)

You don't have to do anything to enter the cup. You're in or out. The first round will be the Tuesday before your first league match. Go here, click on "files", then "season".

BTW my team won again, I've got a walkover next week which will give my team a perfect season, assuming I can find nine players sober enough to show up.

Well another lose for me, I dropped to 5th, but next week I have at the last place team in the league and I'm only 2 points outta fourth. The fourth place team plays the first, who still needs a win to guarentee at least a promotion match. So I hope I can win the game and stay up in DV automatically. Do you guys think I should MOtS this just in case, or do you think I'll be ok considering my oppenent is the worse team in the league?

Thats a tough call. If you win, and the 4th team loses, you're safe and the team spirit doesn't matter. But if you MOTs, and still finish 5th, you'll have to face a playoff with an irritated team. Without knowing the specifics of your situation, I'd probably play it normal, since you'll probably win and be dependant on the other result anyway.
On the other hand, some might tell you to PIC, if you think you'll still win, since with a good team spirit you should be able to win your qualifier, especially with a good TS.

The following week, there will be no league game and then the midweek game will be your cup game. You'll be matched up with a VI team, probably a bot, at their place.
And do I have to do anything to be entered into the cup competition? No, the field is selected automatically. The top 8 000-odd teams in the U.S. are entered, which means all of the top five divisions, all of the teams placing in the top five of VI, and the top half of teams placing 6th.

Easy 6-2 win in my team's first league match. I'm sitting 5th right now, but I'm only two points out of second (I'm 10 points behind the leader). I beat the club that's currently in 3rd place.

Do card suspensions (red or accumulated yellows) affect the availability of players in the relegation match?

Wow I managed to win 2-0 against 5th place and I will not get automatically relegated now.
Almost certainly will finish 6th and will have a play off match to stay up. I am confident enough that I can win that.

I managed to screw up my lineup and put and IM in defense and a defender at IM. Got a tie when I should have won. Now I may not get promoted. Not too pleased about that.

Thanks, I will probably just go normal because I think the first place team can win their game, and unless they MOtS me, which is unlikely cause I think the manager is asleep, I should be fine with just playing normal and finishing in the top 4. If I have to play a qualifier though, I am pretty confident that I can win it, my team has been playing much better and getting me closer to competing with the top two teams in my division. Hopefully in another season or two I will be competing to win the series.

Well, my youth squad is now up to "solid" and I pulled a pretty good young player from them last week.
Anybody know how often you can pull a solid GK when your youth squad is "excellent?" I figure I'll be up to that level in a couple of months since I'm pumping $20k/week into my youth squad.

I had pushed mine to solid, but then reduced my youth investment and it remained solid until about a week ago. Figured might as well push that extra 10 grand in.

How long does it take to improve your youth system if you pump in $20k a week from the start?

Depends on what your current youth squad level is. It took me maybe over half a season to get it close to passable. Maybe a little longer for solid.

Lost to the third ranked team in my group (3-0, but much better than it would have been at the beginning), but still hanging on by a thread in 6th place. I play the 7th place team next week so it is a must win for me. Seeing as I have to win my next game do I MOTS it or wait until the qualifying game?
My youth team in at inadequate after 4 weeks of 20,000k a week. Hopefully I get some good youth players soon because I'm too deep in debt to buy anyone good , but thankfully I"m climbing slowly into the black.

If I'm training something other than goalkeeping or general, will my GK's make no improvement at all? I've got an 18-year-old inadequate GK who's the most valuable player on my team and I was wondering if I should concentrate on training him. Right now I'm training playmaking.
