lost my 2nd match 2-0 at my opponent's place. Last week I tied the newguy, who I assume I'm relatively equal to in strength, at my place. Gonna wait and see how I do until the midpoint and then try and anticipate my finish in the league. Might adjust my strategy then but for now still just trying to guage my team versus the rest of the league.

If I can stay in 5-6th place and fight for my right to stay in this division I'll be happy.

Lost 8-2 away to one of the better teams.

I was leading 1-nil and got some false hope there for a while. Then one of my defenders got injured and my sub played like crap and the goals rained in.

Second defender in two weeks to go down injured leaving me very thin at the back and with little money to get any replacements.

I am now in 7th and play the team that leapfrogged me into 6th this coming weekend at my place. It might be time for my "Match of the Season" game!

I play one of the top teams twice after this match so I would lose those anyway. Might be two PiC matches there.

Won my cup match. I get a 2nd home match. No way I win this one though.

I'm in the exact same boat. The team I have to play has had a "upopian" midfield his last two league matches.
Still unbeaten and untied in 6 cup and 5 league matches.

won my friendly 2-nil and have some bragging rights. This was for the wembley invite. Went 3-0 with 9-3 gd.

Once I'm finished there, it is on to the Lone Star Cup. :)

had a backup IM upgrade in PM and got promptly moved to a starting position.

Had 7 form upgrades and 9 degrades...

Question... Is everybody's schedule set up the same way? Play the following teams in order: A b C d E f G g F e D c B a

I'm in the middle of a 4 game stretch (in my case against two middle of the pack teams) against 2 teams.

Best of luck to you all.

It all depends on what your finishing position was last season.

Here's my situation: The last two seasons I've had serious team spirit problems, which I now think hurt my performance much worse than I had thought. At the end of last season I finally went out and bought a clown (Popular guy, solid leadership)), and assumed he would become team leader and my problems would be solved.
It seems that's not the case. I PICed through my first three cup matches and first league match, and have played it normal through the rest. Now my team spirits down to satisfied, and I have no reason to think the decline will stop. I have two other players with solid leadership (one pleasant, one nasty), and I'm guessing one of them is still leader.
The nasty guy is a crucial player, but theres a ray of hope -- he's got excellent experience. So, for about $600,000, I could name him coach. The way I see it, it'd be a big boost to the team spirit, simply taking him out of the player pool, and his solid leadership would be an improvement on my current coach.
Someone please tell me I'm doing the right thing, before I spend that kind of money. Making the nasty guy coach would mean he'd be no longer the team leader (if he even is), right?

I'm hitting the hardest part of my schedule this week, playing 4 games in a row against the top two teams in the league. I'm hoping that I can pull out one maybe two results out of the games, b/c my division just got four new teams in it replacing inactive managers, which could go well for me once I get done with this deadly stretch, hopefully my team isn't too hurt by what could happen in these next four league games.

What is your current coach like? I think that would play a factor in it.

My biggest match of the season today. Playing against 6th place, I am in 7th, level on points, I am just behind on goal difference.

It is my home match and I am hoping for a victory and hopefully a smaller loss or draw at their place in 3 weeks.

I have to go MOTS (my first time ever with this).

All my injured players are back just in time, hiring those extra doctors helped. I also trained general for this week for the first time ever and got a few timely boosts to form to some key players.

If I lose I am relegated for sure.

I managed to win 3-0, with two late goals as he didn't have subs for injured players.

I'll take it! :D

6th place and hanging on to division IV! Woo-hoo!

Despite being the 3rd best team in my division, I'm winning it and have a 6 point margin over the 3 way tie for 2nd. Definite possibility for promotion.

I lost what I thought would be a winnable match in my home arena. Lost 5-2. I expected this guy to be better than the other newbie in my division, but thought I'd be closer than that. Didn't MOTS me based on his ratings compared to last week. Just outclassed me I guess. Course my team is irritated at their over all lack of experience. :)

I'm gonna be fighting to stay in 5th/6th place. I know I might be able to beat the newbie (who came into the league with a 10 pt head start) for some points. I think I can also get some points of the current 2 bottom dwellers, so maybe I'll be allright and able to fight for my right to stay in my division at the end of the season. Gonna have to look at my schedule for opportunistic MOTS games.

Also, I'm done playing the player market. Trying to get out of my little hole of debt and start making some money that I can use to really upgrade my team. Right now my squad is full of decent trainees who unfortunately lack form, stamina and experience. Thankfully I'm at 539 supporters now and got 8K plus in my newly renovated stadium for this weekend's game.

Also, I'm entering one of those private cups next week. What are your experiences with those and what should I maybe keep an eye out for?

lost again 4-0, but gained some more supporters and in 5th place. However I face the league leader the next two matches. Going to pic for those two. I'm hoping I don't get thrashed too bad.

Have fun, give some of your bench warmers some time, but also take it seriously to a slight degree. The first private cup I have joined has been fun. You should get some money out of the cups too. My next opponent in the Wembley Invite is an Aussie team with a 40,000 stadium(division II I might add) so hopefully 30k show up to see me get a beating.

I lost sunday what was a winable match 3-0, with the other team having only 4% more possesion than I...I made one very crucial mistake...I switched my two inner mids, and forgot to switch there positioning as well to their Offensive and Deffinsive positioning...sucks...now I'm in 6th place, and play the 7th place team the next two weeks.

I've been in division IV for 3 and a half seasons now...avoided relegation my first season, came in 2nd the next, fourth this past one, and now I'm in for a relegation battle...

Two of my starting center mids will hit outstanding PMing by the end of the season though as they're 19, and 21. I need to streangthen my defense though...thinking about sucking up the next two season and buying a player I found on the market (19 yr. old, Excellent PMer, Solid Winger) and training him to Brilliant PMing. My friend who plays in Uruguay just bought a solid winger/brilliant PMer in preseason for 4.2 million. He said he'll need another winger by the time I train him up as one of his others is getting old and he'd buy him from me for 20 % more than he bought his last one. Then I'll invest the money into a strong defense (two outstanding defenders). It's going to be a long two seasons though avoiding relegation, waiting for my big payday.

Lost 5-0 to the first place team in my league, I lost my leading scorer and my central defender in the FIRST HALF. My forward is only out one week, but my defender is out 4, I hope I can hold out the next three, and be able to avoid a relegation game this year. I'm being realistic and only looking for one good result in my next three, should be interesting.

That seems like a reasonable thing to do... we've been told before (though not sure if by the HT team) that the coach can't be your team leader, so you'd get rid of a possible clown-blocker and upgrade your coaching leadership at the same time, giving double benefits to maintaining team spirit.

The good news is, as long as you don't MOTS, it shouldn't go any lower than IIRC composed.
