I LOVE the new experience rules. The last match of last season, I MOTSed, which gave me a rating in the top 25 of div iv in ENgland. The second match of this season (the first game was a walkover, I playued a lot of reserves) I played it normal and still managed to improve by 5 stars. Its all due to experience. My youngest defender is 28, my first string midfielders are between 24 and 30. I wish they were doubling the experience effects again next season.
On another note, is there a maximum for set pieces, as with stamina? Or can it just keep going and going?

As expected I lost 5-1 to the team likely to come second this season.
I am not sure why my hatstats rating went down, but my stars went up. I have no clue how that stuff works. I did post my first 30 star game, yeh I know it doesn't mean anything.

Hatstats rating is based on the positional ratings produced by Hattrick (not stars). It will be affected by MOTS/PIC and home/away, which is not true of players' star values. To calculate it, convert the denominations to a number (starting with 1 for disastrous). Take the midfield number three times and add the rest to get the rating.

I won my second league match, and claimed first place in IV.39... Wierdly I also pulled the highest midfield rating, excellent, in my series... I'm starting to get that big head feeling, so I should probably get my ass handed to me in the upcoming weeks... :)

No way, man......8th place is MINE!
I'm still kind of ticked off over Sunday. Sure, Red Star Belgrade is one of the top teams in the USA, and sure my attack leaves a lot to be desired.....but a 3-1 loss at home? With my first Divine midfield? Harsh.........

I hate this. I have just won my last two friendly matches, but I suck at league play.
Hopefully I will get my first league win this next game as I appear to be playing a bot and they have a weaker mf than me.

Hmmm, out of the cup
I should have a played my first teamers i guess, but decided training took priority and thought I could get the win.
My opponent field his first XI and I got dumped 3-0 away
Still never played a cup tie at home. Maybe one day. My two supporters who left must have been pissed that we get knocked out of the cup :)
This weekend I play by far the strongest team in my series, thinking of PiC and taking the loss on the chin. Could get ugly.

My youth squad is solid, but my last two call ups have been crap. In fact rumor has it one is working at Taco Bell and the other is holding a sign on the street saying "Will play fotboll for free."
Anyone else think the youth pull is a glitch that needs to be fixed?

My youth system's been excellent for several seasons now, and I'm guessing 4 out of 5 callups get fired immediately. At this point I'll never get a youth callup who can jump into my starting lineup, so unless its a striker worth training, even a good callup goes straight to the transfer list. I probably made close to a $1million last season selling youths (most of that from one player). You just have to realistic, and patient.

My last two or three have been terrible. Today's was 19 and valued at $2,000 and had nothing higher than poor, most ratings were disastrous. Needless to say he's fired.
About a month ago I got a solid defender/pass winger (18 yr old) so that might be my lot for a while.

I just got a 17 yo pass wing / pass def, and I'm training defending. That made me happy.

I am kicking myself right now for not pulling up a keeper. My normal 2nd keeper got injuried and had to leave the game. In comes one of my decent youth pulls who isn't normally a keeper, but is today as an emergency. I guess my team is pulling an Eddie Gaven.
Luckly my 1st choice keeper is back from injury and hopefully my 2nd keeper isn't out too long.

Well I won 1-0, but I have a huge problem. Both keepers are out and I don't have the money to go and get one off the list. Any way anyone can lend me some cash or send me a player on loan? :)

My train continues to roll merrily along. Today I won the most difficult league match I'll face, away to the only team with a realistic chance of catching me. After much soul-searching, I decided to play it normal, and won 0-3. In three cup and three league matches I've yet to concede a goal, playing it cool in four of those six games. The only bad news is my new signing, a magnificent young center back, got injured 20 minutes into his debut. BUt he's only out a week, and it will take more than one player to be out a lot longer than that to derail my trip to division 3.

What happens when you put in a injuried player in the starting XI? Reason I ask is my 2nd keeper is bruised, but training with a +1 besides his name while my other keeper is out for 2 more weeks.
Would it be wiser to put in a player who normally isn't a keeper in goal or go with the injuried guy? I need help and I know what my next pull is going to be.

Is this a friendly match? You should be able to get an inadequate keeper for next to nothing.

Just got confirmation...
Got directed to Hattrick years (?) ago but wasn't sure I was interested. Forgot about it but thanks to all of you chatting about it, I got interested.
I'm stoked. Feel like a girl on her first date with an older boy. :)

What's the best way to find friendly candidates? Obviously the 'league' schedules your regular season games. But I know noone other than the members of my league. Is there an easy way to search/find clubs in need of a friendly?
Back to the wealth of documentation. Actually, past time to hit the sack. One last search...

There are a couple of things that you can do...
First off is put an ad out. On the left-side menu bar, under Conferences, is a link for Ads. You can take out an ad for a friendly, and you should get a number of challenges from that.
Secondly, challenge the people in your series if they're out of the cup. They'll need friendlies too, and it's a quick way to get a friendly.
Another thing you can do is ask here. ArsenalTexan3 (I believe) and kopiteinkc are out of the cup, and I probably will be too after this Wednesday.
Or, you can do what I do, and just type in random series numbers and challenge random people.
Good luck - if you have any questions, definitely ask here or on the conference.
