I'm 2 points up in my series with the 2&3 teams playing each other the last week. The bad thing is that I'm going to have to play one of the best demoting teams again if I win the series.
I agree with you, I'll get toasted in a playoff.....just like last season.
HOWEVER, facing Minute Men (and beating him) would be sweet, since he frequently schooled me when I first started playing Hattrick over 2 years ago.....

I can't believe this guy is not gonna sell. No offers with only 3 or 4 hours to go, passable playmaker at $20K, what is wrong with him???

Now, with auto-promotion to the Major League within my grasp, let's see if can actually do it.

Congrats, Lonestar!
It's very, very rough in ML, let me tell ya. I'm almost positive I'll be in a qual game (though not 100% sure), as I host billay, and he he can't drop lower than 6th (though, in theory, I can pass him for 5th if I win 5-0). Bad thing is, 3/4 starters have 2 yellows, so I could be in trouble in a qual (assuming I make it to one) if the wrong guys get carded Sunday.
Looking at the teams coming up, I'm thinking that even if I stay up somehow, I'm probably gonna be one of the 2 worst ML teams next season, and likely THE worst.
But it's always interesting. Good luck :)

And the FOFC community will have another Major Leaguer. Good luck LoneStar.

I'm a bit puzzled. as they updated my upcoming matches, I seem to be having a qualification match. My question is for what though?
Right now I just finished in 5th place in Series: V.215 (8588)(5 out of 6).
The team I am playing finsihed in 1st place in Series: VI.617 (27953)(6 out of 6).
So this this for some special cup for the next season or is it a battle for promotion and demotion?

5th place gets you a demotion game. Seriously, don't get demoted to VI. That's really bad.

So the bottom 4 clubs get sent down? And I though WES was confusing.

The bottom 2 clubs get sent down automatically.
5th and 6th have playoffs vs series winners from the next lowest division.
With the 1-4-16-64-256-1024 pyramid, 1/2 of all winners move up automatically, replacing 7th and 8th place teams. The lower half of series winners in a level (determined by points, GD, then goals scored) play vs 5th/6th place for the spot in the higher series.
In theory, up to 5 of the 8 teams in a series can leave, or as few as only 2.
Good luck in your qual. You'll be at home, so should have a good shot at it. Are you facing a human, or a bot?

The bottom two teams (7 & 8) automatically get sent down. The next two teams (5 & 6) have to play a qualification match which determines whether they stay up. If you win, you stay up, if not, you go down. Has to do with the fact that there are 256 divisions in V (so 528 automatically down, 528 play qualifiers, total of 1024) and 1024 divisions in VI (528 first place teams autopromote, 528 play qualifiers).

VI.617 will be a bot. I think the humans are only in the 900's. Somebody on another board is playing one of these teams in a qualifier, and if your bot is anything like his bot (played a 4-4-2 with a 1/2 star inner midfielder), you shouldn't have to worry too much about winning.
My Brays Bayou FC finished 4th in V.84, so I don't have to sweat a qualifier. I'm wondering if the team that finished 5th tried to do so -- they fielded a 3 - 4 - 1  (and with their top-dollar scorer playing in goal).

I think it is a bot. The name is Boston Vikings. No club history and nothing as far as their arean goes. The inner mid is 1 and a half star at best. Doesn't look to be a problem. Just need to make sure no one gets injuried.

Ah well, I like a challenge.

If you're getting autodemoted, your chances of going into a bot league are pretty good. I shouldn't think you'd have much trouble autopromoting out of one of those next season. Notwithstanding the 10% supporter hit, you probably won't come out of it too badly.

At least so far my books are more or less balanced and I have $120k left over after buying a bunch of players.
I tried selling a couple but nobody made a bid. :(

Your initial team will have some holes, but it's nothing that can't be shored up with some judicious spending. Early middle-aged passables aren't overly pricy, and I'd estimate (based on my three weeks to date) that's enough to stick in V and it ought to be more than enough to overrun a bot league.

When we're too lazy to find anyone more worthy of ourselves...but I've found most teams will accept the first friendly they get offered.
I've got a question about promotion/relegation I'm just to anxious to wait a couple of days for. The team which won my league got auto-promoted (thank god, I can't bear the thought of us beating on each other another season). The team he replaces (according to Hatstats) forfeited its last ten games or so. This is a divions 3 team. Will this team be a bot next season? God, I hope so. I'll be a heavy heavy favorite if thats the case.

An example, pulled from england.hatstats.info, would be Ducky Fuzz, who were fifth in III.16 in season 17, won their qualifier, then got dropped. They were a walkover all of season 18, automatically relegated into IV.45, and were a walkover all of this season and are set to be automatically relegated into division V.
