Or are you just saying that maybe you won't get demoted, because your qualifier will be at home?
I am in 6th and will probably have to play a qualifier (though I think I'll move up to 5th) but I was counting on playing it at home...
I believe all higher division teams get homefield in qualification matches...

What does your youth team rating have to be before your youth pulls routinely rate "inadequate" or "passable" in something?
is "solid" the highest rating a coach can have?
scenario:
player gets hurt and is out for two weeks
you hire a couple of doctors immediately
how likely is it that the two weeks will be cut to one?
thanks in advance

Youth squad pull is completely random. The better your squad is, the better chance your pull will be good.
Solid is the highest rating a coach can have.
It really depends on the player age. A 17 year old will heal alot faster than a 32 year old.

My youth squad is excellent, cost a lot of money to get it there mind you.
Finally paid off this week, got a 17yr old solid forward! Now I have to decide whether to keep him or not. He is better than any forwards I do have. But I am currently training PM and kinda reluctant to switch. Any advice?

Sell him, but start with a reasonably high price. Is his passing inad/pasable? And if The US conference has a section where you can post your youth pulls and advertise you're selling him, do so, and post on the Global Transfer forum as well. You should be able to get at the very least 125000 dollars for him, depending on his passing.

Here are his other skills:
Stamina: wretched Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: inadequate Passing: poor
Winger: inadequate Defending: inadequate
Scoring: solid Set Pieces: poor
So his passing is poor but not bad Def, PM and Wing skills
And he is 17. #: 11903470
Now for sale :)

That's what I was thinking, so I am not complaining. :)
He finally sold for $227,000.

Possibly the best race in Hattrick this season. 1st place team has only 18 points, but the 6th place team has 15. The 6th place team was in first only three weeks ago. It's a lot of fun, and a lot of uncertainty, though the current leaders have recently upgraded their MF, so they're the team to beat right now.
Have a look at IV.62 in the US.

To be honest, I think the new "board" for transfer ads is crap. The fact that you can have only one ad at a time for three days, and you can't delete or edit it makes it impossible to get a good price for players.
To whit (You can find all these guys available for $1,000 in USA, and you can search by name or id#):
Chi Coong-Vinh (12333458) 17 years, passable form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is balanced and honest.
Stamina: _ passable_
Scoring: _ inadequate_
Jason Statton (8627910) 19 years, poor form, healthy
A controversial person who is calm and upright.
Winger: _ passable
Thomas Garbett (7674327) 18 years, passable form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is calm and dishonest.
Stamina: _ excellent
Defending: _ inadequate
Tommy Vukotich (12333273) 17 years, passable form, healthy
A pleasant guy who is calm and righteous.
Winger: _ passable_

I had an interesting dilemma this week. I have one forward suspended for a red card and another injured.
So I figured I'd go get a replacement from the transfer list. Started looking at solid forwards and they were well out of my price range. At least $100,000 and rising.
So I took a look at passable forwards and snapped up an 18yr old passable for only $10,000.

the best thing to do is do it right before the deadline. I have picked up some good deals and not spening more than 7,000.

Its been an interesting couple of weeks for my team. I shockingly drew at home to the 7th place team in my league, playing it normal, and dropped 5 points back to the leader -- who I play at home Sunday. I also sold a 19 year old reserve team striker for 1.2 million pounds (does anyone know how to make a pound sign on an American computer?) and WAY overpaid for an outstanding playmaker who has terrible secondary stats.
I'm almost hoping I lose or draw this weekend's game, so I can evaluate my squad and concentrate on next season. This is my fifth season, and I've alwasy been in a close race for the title, and so have never had time to look at the future, always at next week's match.

I also face an interesting dilemma... I'm facing the league leaders (away) next week with little chance of catching up to him. However, I'm two points away from second place, who also has to play this team away, and the battle for 2nd place will most likely come down to the last game when we play each other. I still don't know whether I should MOTS the game (because I could probably PIC the two games in between for the final game) and try and get a point out of it, or play it normal and keep my team spirit up until the final game.

Squeaked to victory, am only two points back and so have to wait another week (when I travel to the 4th place team with a team spirit of "furious", without my overpaid outstanding playmaker, who got carted off on strecher "in agony" and is out for three weeks) before I can sell off my geriatrics and plan for next year.
Wooo-Hooo!

Hello, i have been playing Hattrick for a few months my team is F. C. Mexico, playing in my first complete season. currently i am doing pretty good, i am in first place and 2 spots away from automatically moving to the fourth division. I am in a very weak division (v.57) so i do anticipate a tough time in iv division if i do promote. I would like to thank everyone for their comments and advise especially Elwood(great advise), I have been training scoring this season. I read every post from page 1 to the post above. Great stuff.

Welcome to BigSoccer and good luck with your team.
Training scoring, seems Indy Racing has a protege :)
I am tempted to make that switch, but just can't do it.
