I know that a lot of people around here hate the IFFHS (maybe because they don't like to face the truth), but anyway, here's their ranking for the best national leagues in the world in 2003

1. Italy
2. Spain
3. England
4. Brasil
5. Argentina
6. France
7. Germany
8. Holland
9. Portugal
10. Scotland

Do I have to give yet another lecture on the mathematical methods used and why they are flawed?

How the hell can our league which barely exists, which has no TV, radio or newspaper coverage, and which noone living here even knows about, be ahead of USA & Japan ???

Must be a pretty strange system

Well, when you consider that a significant part of the points earned by a league comes from the points earned in DOMESTIC play by the top 5 teams... and then add the fact that Australian teams have no real competition in Oceania... you get the picture.

If I have time, I will "conclusively" demonstrate, by the same formula, that the A-League is far better than MLS.
