My new fantasy is to move to a small Mexican town close to Cuernavaca, and I'm currently in the "find out if it's possible" stage.
I've become spoiled by high-speed internet access. What options (if any) are there for high-speed internet in the small towns in Mexico? Cable? DSL? Satellite? About how much does it cost (per month)? Since the houses are made of stone (adobe, I assume), is it a big pain to install fixtures (like if there's not a cable outlet)?
At worst, what about traditional dial-up? What are the costs (per month) in the smaller towns? And again, if there's only one phone jack in the house, is it a big pain to have another one installed?
Thanks in advance.

The small town my grandfolks live in have high speed internet. Satellite and cable is available.
Adobe?? Most of the adobe building i see are usually on ranches and that is built for the stables. Most small towns in the State of Mexico and surrounding states use cinderblocks, artesan bricks for the housing. In that region it is somewhat dry heat in the summer and spring but tends to rain alot during the colder seasons... and after a while.. the adobe bricks tend to shift & crack the plaster walls.
I actually prefer a brickhouse over a wooden and sheetrock house. both have its pros and cons, but in the long run.. brick is the way to go (thats just my opinion)
As far as cost... Cable and satellite will run you anywhere from 40 to 60 bucks a month. My grand father rents out a lot of lots and in one location, the person set up a Cyber cafe and he says he pays 70 bucks... not sure if its for comercial puposes or not. I dont know about your region, but we are not that far apart so it cant be that much different i dont think
