View Full Version : Redknapp predicts ghastly end to Ghaly career

I'm disappointed that Ghaly didn't get to play yesterday and also disgusted at the fans who booed him. Only Arsenal fans boo their own players(eg. Eboue). The fans can only remember his shirt-throwing incident but not his contributions for us. How come no one is talking about him losing 2 tooth when he was playing for us?

Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. He has apologise and work hard to get back into the 1st team. I hope Harry will stick by him and give him a chance to win the fans back.

It is not helpful to boo him and he did put in some decent efforts at times, however he was also often mediocre and chucking the shirt on the ground should have been the end of him here.

It's his own stupidity which caused him to miss out on a decent move to Birmingham by irritating them and he didn't want to join Derby in the Championship either. So can't say I have much sympathy for him.

I would like to see him come back, seems he may have a bit more motivation now.

Harry thinks its time we move on.

I agree. However, the shirt throwing incident was bloody stupid. I believe he will never figure in our first XI but I cant see why he cant do his bit when needed at times like these when we have 4 games in 10 days. Get his value up a bit with the odd performance and then sell him!

I find the people who take the shirt-throwing incident personally to be quite sad.

He was subbed on, booed, did not play well, and was subbed off.

He was booed once again.

It's not like he took the shirt off in protest or anything, he was frustrated, plain and simple. This is a guy who lost teeth in a game in a Spurs shirt and continued to play, it's not like he doesn't have the heart, he's a quality player.

If people can't handle a player having a bad game every once in a while, well...

I love Spurs to death, but sometimes I don't get the fans at all.

My $0.02

I'd rather have him than Penas.

When Ghaly was good, he was amazing. like in the Fenerbache game.

Losing teeth for the cause isn't amazing. You can at least run with teeth hanging out. Stuart Pearce and Mabbutt tried to play on with broken legs. Now thats legendary. Players break bones and have ligaments and cartilage ripped up, all in the name of money. And they don't even pay their own insurance..........

I'm contradicting myself like a fool here. Ignore me.

... When Ghaly was good, he was amazing. like in the Fenerbache game ...

when he was bad, though ...

still, i agree. the fans who can't get beyond this are likely the very fans who created the situation by booing a spurs player who was at least putting in an effort (even if he was staggeringly bad on the day). i know i'd never want to play for a bunch of fans who'd treated my like that. if he's willing to get on with it, the fans certainly should be. he was much more 'the wronged' than the fans were, imo.

for what it's worth, i was watching the match at a pub with the volume down. when ghaly got up, got a bit excited and began explaining to a pal his whole situation at spurs. and when he sat back down, i said, "shit. ok, here's what's probably going on". nailed it. not that it took a genius, mind.

His best option is to move on and get a fresh start elsewhere. Let's face it, he would be repeatedly booed at ANY club for throwing the jersey to the ground. Frustration aside it was a very stupid thing for a professional to do and he's paying the price for it right or wrong.

Didn't Keane do the same thing? He threw his tracksuit for the floor after being subbed off. What's the difference between a tracksuit and a jersey? Both have the emblem of Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

But Keane contributed more, so it was viewed with a blind eye.

*sigh*

Agree with most here. When he threw the shirt on the ground I was mad as hell, and wanted him gone. But he's still here, he's done his time in the background and he should be used without booing if the manager wants him. Let's not deceive ourselves that he's the midfielder we need though.

watching those clips of ghaly and juxtaposing that to how ********ing sad the squad looks trying to create offensive threats these days.....these supporters really need to get over themselves. hell, even if only for the monetary benefit the club could get from finally being able to sell off a decent player.

wasn't easy seeing the likes of defoe, keane, and berba up front, knowing who I'm going to have to watch tomorrow.

Ghaly pleads for Spurs chance

I hope the fans will know what to do if he is asked to play. At least don't boo him again...
