I'm on my second tour of duty as a Knick fan. I was back in the early 90's, but then after they traded Patrick Ewing, I felt betrayed and vowed never to root for them until they fire Scott Layden. After a 3 year lay-off, I've been slowly getting back into the swing of things. Now I'm just waiting for Chaney to be fired and for Frank Williams to be the definite starting PG. And I still love Patrick Ewing.

Sorry, I can't say the same for you. :p
But I really hate the Bulls (of course, that was Michael's fault).

The Nets for me, going back to the Drazen Petrovic, Kenny Anderson and Derrick Coleman days.
I don't hate the Knicks, I just think they're overrated. Well, some hate when John Starks broke Kenny Anderson's wrist.

The San Antonio Spurs since George Gervin was there.
Picking up the Admiral (who was my favorite late 80s college player) and then Duncan (my favorite mid-90s college player) made loving them all the sweeter.

Hornets fan since the days of Kelly Tripucka and Rex Chapman.
I was really turned off when George Shinn and Mini Me started ruining the team, tried to exploit the taxpayers of Charlotte to financing their arena and eventually moved to Nawlins, but I still have love for them. I guess I'll switch my alleigance once the Bobcats start play, but we'll see.

I grew up a Knick fan... but always had sort of a morbid fascination for the Nets as a Jersey team that nobody liked. Dunno, but maybe I still have some sympathy for both.
The one NBA team I am not ambiguous about my love for however is the Sacramento Kings. I lived in Sacramento since the team was bad (Lionel Simmons, Duane Causwell and Rory Sparrow, anyone?) but the city's passion for the team never wavered. And now that they're a halfway decent team, that passion has progressed into madness in and around Sactown.
I've never let my growing to like some NorCal teams supplant my childhood loyalties to the Yankees, Devils and the football Giants in good times and bad. But the fact that I own a bunch of Kings gear may suggest that hoops may be a different beast.

They were always mediocre, but I liked the guys they had like Walt Williams, Tyrone Corbin, Wayman Tisdale, Spud Webb, Vinny Del Negro, Mitch Richmond, Brian Grant and of course, the greatest former Tar Heel ever, Pete Chilcutt.

A stroll down memory lane for me... :D Of the above, I think Tisdale, Vinny D, Grant and Spud are still the most fondly remembered ex-Kings. Mitch only slightly less so after he donned the hated purple and yellow of a certain SoCal team...
I also remember that Richmond and Grant were on the first Kings team to reach the playoffs (95-96) since the franchise's first season in Sac after moving from KC.

76ers.
But I'm also partial to the Mavericks and Pacers.
