Can he be suspended for criminal behavior off the field?

OK there were 6 men arrested and one man punched. That makes the odds 6-1 that SG did anything and overwhelming that the guy claims SG did the hitting. He'll be bailed this morning and this will drag out a long time and nothing will come of it. Shouldn't have been out on the piss with his lads from Huyton.

yeah - hope it doesn't affect him on the pitch though.

Footballer of the year might be out of the question for him now, but as liverbird said, he'll make bail and this will drag on for months. As mothers across the world say, nothing good ever happens after midnight.

But it takes until then and maybe a few hours later for girls to be drunk enough to sleep with me... =(

Not too worried. I doubt Stevie was stupid enough to actually punch a guy.

What I am more worried about is that he was out at 2:30 AM. During season.

He was keeping it real with his Huyton housing estates massive.

Seriously, if you end up making more than 10 times what your mates do, you have to stop hanging out with them.

What juanca? What?

I can go out until 2:30 AM, but I am not a world class soccer player that lives in Liverpool.

Which is what I sarcastically referred to earlier. It's great that Stevie still keeps in touch with his childhood mates or whatever, but it's one thing for a journeyman welder from Huyton to go out for a few pints and throw a few punches, but quite another thing for a Liverpool captain from Whiston to do it.

Apparently it was the DJ who got punched. Thought it was "Hang the DJ" and not "Punch the DJ"??? Why do I get the impression there's an Everton fan at the heart of this?

Because there's always an Everton fan at the heart of it...

In his autobiography he described something similar happening.

This explains everything. The bastard probably put on a wicked sick drum-and-bass version of the Z-Cars theme on the moment he spotted Stevie in the place. Simply got what was coming to him.

None of us know what happened. Let's see what develops before speculating.

I seem to remember Van Persie and Johnny Evans accused of rape not so long ago. This may be serious or it may not.

Will the team don a "Free Stevie G." T-shirt for their next match??? I bet the local shirtmakers are printing up a batch as we speak.

... and something about the baby not being his. I agree with most here, it may be serious, it may not be. The news agencies here are being very careful, too. I suggest we too are.
