Hi guys, I need some serious help again, this time with the veterans. i'd really appreciate full answers on at least 1 player. this was the kinda info i consider a full answer :
1.their real or best position (like real specific plz)
2.their attributes (good and bad)
3.things they could/couldn't do well on the pitch (freekicks, pks, corners, etc.)
4.what their playing style was like (did they run at defenders, were they lazy poachers, or a comparison to a modern player would be nice)

well, here they are:
1. Leonardo (from WC 94,98)
2. Maradona [mostly his best or many position (s)]
3. B. Laudrup
4. M. Laudrup
5. Boban (the Croatian)
6. Prozinecki
7. Rai (fromWC 94, washe THATgood in the 1st place)
8. Aaron Winter
9. Gazza
10. Djorkaeff (mostly his best/many position(s)
11. Klinnsman
12. Rudy Voller
13. FAustino Asprilla
14. Erwin Sanchez ( from WC94, same ? as Rai)
15. Marc Wilmots
16. Thomas Brolin
17. Garcia Aspe (the Mexican who recently retired)
18. Ruud Gullit
19. Frank Rikaard
20. Cantona
21. Ian Wright
22. J.P. Papin
23. Abedi Pele
24. Robbi Baggio (mostly his best/many position (s)

Now, just some ?s
1. What years did Michel Platini play his best? when did he retire may be a better question
2. how good is/was claudio suarez (the mexican defender with like 100+ caps, if he's good, plz include him in the list above
3. would u all consider Hierro finished and a veteran or still 1 of the best

thanks again guys, i'd really appreciate some answers

well, here they are:
1. Leonardo (from WC 94,98)

Leonardo was good at fracturing skulls with his elbow.

2. Maradona [mostly his best or many position (s)]

Maradona's best position was on his knees hunched over an 8-ball on a glass coffee table with a straw up his nose.

9. Gazza

For a modern day comparison to Gazza I'd say Clint Mathis.

I’ll do a couple . Boban is my all-time favorite player. Elegant efficiency is how I would describe his game. He could do everything with the ball, but he never abused that ability. He was great at dribbling, passing, had a great shot with both of his feet and could even win the ball. He played everywhere in midfield , but was at his best as an attacking mid. Lyon’s Juninho is somewhat like him.

Prosinecki was another amazingly gifted player, but he didn’t take very good care of his body, so he didn’t achive all that was possible.

I'll try a few

Maradona - Best midfielder I've ever seen.
Klinsmann - Really good forward, the german forward that score 3 goals (headers) against Saudi Arabia in WC2002 reminds me of him.

I got in my mind that Michel Platini was at his best when France got 3rd place in Mexico 86.

thanks, i didn't really appreciate what Astorian had to say, tho it was funny. and i'd really like some more specific answers, like maradona: where in MIDFIELD DID HE PLAY? right center mid, left center mid, central attack. mid (like Zidane w/France) or what? I'd really appreciate some more. and if u guys could tell me where in the midfield did Hagi and Stoichkov play, i'd really appreciate it. thanks again

Ahhh....the Laudrup brothers.

Michael and Brian Laudrup were Danish brothers who were unbelievable players.

If I remember correctly, Michael was a m/f and Brian was a forward.

They were awesome.

During EURO 84 he scored nine goals in France's five matches though Arconada should've easily saved his shot in the Final.
It was during this time (84-86) that Platini was considered perhaps the most feared freekick taker in the game. The David Beckham of his era, I guess. (Or is Beckham the Platini of his era? ;))
He retired unexpectedly after the '86/'87 season at a time when many still considered him the world's best player. I still have on video his farewell match in which the '84 French team played a World Select in Nice.
