Woohoo! This is much better than the Jamaican Dominoes World Championships.

Damn. I've got to miss the last few big money ends to go cover the Hurricanes/Red Wings hockey game, and lighting fried my ability to record (video in) on my VCR. Damn.

Thank you, FoxSportsWorld.

The skip to the sweepers:

"Hard"

"Hard"

"Harder"

A perfect sponsor for Curling on FOX Sports World is of course...

People only really care about curling for about a few weeks a year and forget about it the rest of the time.

Much like sex.:D

Confessions of a curling watcher. The kids and I watched until the next-to-last end yesterday. I was pulling for the Scots.

Me, too. That fifth (or was it the sixth) end was incredible. Both teams were sending unbelieveable shots.

Something tells me that it's a lot harder than it looks.

I saw bits of celebrity curling once, with a couple of NHL hockey players and figure skaters among the participants. To put it kindly, they looked like dorks. I'm not saying they could never master the sport or anything, but it doesn't seem to be something you can just start out doing well (or even competently) by virtue of being athletic.

I think you mis-spelled rocks.

Its spelled S U C K S or B O R I N G or R I D I C U L O U S.

Hey, now lay off curling. I was actually somewhat disappointed that I was out of town last Friday and couldn't check out the $100K skins competition. On the other hand, I happened to be in northern Minnesota, which has several curling clubs. As I recall, on the outside of the Two Harbors Curling Club (just before you get to Betty's Pies; the rhubarb-strawberry pie is to die for) building it says "The Game of Fitness & Finesse."

Actually, speaking as a curler, I would say that this is one of the least riveting telecasts I have seen to date. Maybe they'll make up for it in the future by showing the Canadian nationals.

I like the sweeping of the ice.

Can it really help that much?

There's a curling demonstration in town this weekend and I'm seriously considering going.
