They should come back to RFK and say goodbye to Snyder and crew. We'll welcome them with open arms.

Well the way the Skins AND United have played the last few years, we can certainly commiserate. Should make for an interesting tailgate....

God, watching the Redskins is near impossible. When the Wizards are the most stable organization in town, there's a real problem. Let's hope United gets a quality coach in there to help us long suffering DC sports fans

Did you know, the longest tenured Washington coach at the moment is Eddie Jordan of the Wizards who just hired about 6 months ago.

Actually it's the Mystics coach whoever the hell that may be. New Motto....."If you become a coach in DC, Rent don't buy"

We're so snakebitten in DC that when a coach does win a championship, instead of firing the coach, the whole team folds.

DC Pro Teams with the past year:

Wash Wizards - fired MJ & his coach last spring
Wash Freedom - league folded
DC United - fired Hudson
Wash Capitals - fired McPhee
Wash Redskins - fired Spurrier

I'm pretty sure Spurrier quit. I think Snyder would've kept him another year, but Steve didn't know what to do, so he bagged it. IMHO, he bagged it with a few games left.

Yeah, he resigned, he wasn't fired.

I'm not really a 'Skins fan, but I do follow them because of my brother-in-law who's been an avid fan since he was a kid.

I told him when they hired Spurrier that it was a mistake - I never thought he was all that great of a coach at Florida. Sure he won there, but a lot of teams in the SEC are pretty easy to beat.

The NFL is completely different from NCAA Division One football, and running the "Fun and Gun" against NFL defenses doesn't work. Spurrier's best game for the Redskins was against the Forty Niners in a pre-season game in Japan.

1. I don't think a club that has performed like United has the past four years is in a position to woo disenchanted Redskins fans.

2. Say what you will about Danny Snyder, but at least he's up front about having his hands all over personel moves with the Redskins and you know where the buck stops. Compare that to United management, where there's no accountability for failure and Kevin Payne acts like he isn't in charge and Zack and Kasper have the onions to act like they are.

3. What are the odds the Redskins have a new coach hired before United? Even if United names one first, you can bet the Redskins search will be much faster.

4. Chico, sorry about the Rose Bowl. I really thought Michigan had a chance to take USC but the Trojans were clearly the better team.

No qualms about losing to a better team.....

Yeah. I definitely meant the fans. Have you seen the constant stream of letters to the editor in the Wash Post where people are complaining about how bad the Fed Ex experience is and how they're ready to chuck their season tickets. I say they should come on over to the DC United side. They'll save a ton of money and end up with a team that can't be any worse than the Skins, I hope.

Sandon, you make some good points. USC was definitely the better team.

Well, the stadium experience, while not up to HDC standards, is better than Fed Ex, in my opinion. Yes, I know RFK is a dump, but it's a dump with character and close, accessible parking.

While accountability issues may be one thing, I'd much rather have a class guy like Zack over a pretentious Napoleonic micromanaging overriding *#*#*#*#*#*#*# that Daniel Snyder is.
