What in your opinion is the most heated or most exciting rivalry in the world of football? If you chose the other option, please specify. My vote is for Rangers-Celtic

I'd also say Rangers-Celtic, because moreso than other rivlaries, this one often (well, more like always) determines the league champion. So the historical rivalry is made deeper because of the heightened implications the game has.

I'd say that the Boca-River derby is more intense than any of the other ones because of all the riots and stuff that have broken out from those matches.

There's more derby's where riots take place.

But Boca-River is surely one of the heaviest.

I'm not saying this is the best rivalry, but did anyone read the article in the new Four Four Two about the Birmingham Derby. Right now Birminham City and Aston Villa is the best derby in England.

This poll is obviously going to reflect personal opinions. Not only are most fans not intimately knowledgeable about each of these rivalries, but if you follow your favorite team, their rivalry becomes more intense to you. Especially when the other team is tainted with a few wankers here and there... ;)

For the "other" option, I would vote for Mohun Bagan versus East Bengal. Do a Google search on them, if you do not know who they are.

At the moment in Scotland, the biggest rivalry in terms of hatred and aggression occurs between Rangers and Aberdeen. Since the mid-to-late 1980s that surpassed the Old Firm matches in terms of off-the-field and on-the-field rivalry.

Inter vs Milan I dunno... seems like a bit of a gone-*#*#*#*#*# rivalry to me.

The Birmingham derby is pretty great from what I saw on TV. On a very different level than Man utd - Arsenal IMO.

Inter - AC is not really that much of a heated derby.. a lot of fans say they hate Juve more than their city rival.

There's a lot of very heated rivalries in eastern Europe. Red Star Belgrade - Partizan Belgrade, AEK Athens - Panathinaikos, Panathinaikos - Olympiakos, Aris Saloniki - PAOK Saloniki etc.

Italy has also got a lot of rivalries that are FAR more heated than the Milan derby. Just to name a few: Lazio - Roma (obviously.. probably the best rivalry in Italy), Atalanta - Brescia, Napoli has lots of enemies, Palermo - Catania, Sampdoria - Genoa etc.

Celtic - Rangers would probably have to be the most exciting rivalry because of the history behind it and the symbolic meaning, but I think it loses some of it's tension because they meet a lot more often than e.g. the Roman teams.

England has a lot of rivalries, but the most heated are probably not the ones in the Premier League but moreso in the lower leagues.

Boca - River is definitely a very intense rivalry. As for the violence, it' either Boca-River or Red Star - Partizan.

But i'll vote Lazio - Roma since it has it all so to speak ;)

EDIT: totally forgot about Barca - Real.. great rivalry too.

Kuwait vs Saudia. now seriously this isnt one of my jokes. there is so much hate between the teams that if kuwait was playing with another team they saudias would come support the other team and if that team gets a goal they get the Saudia Arabias flag out. we r playing tommorow there is no tickets the game is free but from today people are sleeping in their cars next to the stadium, although this is kuwait and the farest place from the stadium is like 00:30 minutes away its not like any kuwaiti lives hours away.

Paris SG / Olympique Marseilles
Ajax / feyenoord / Den haag
Antwerp / Bruges / Anderlecht
Moscow Derbies

There's lots of match-ups that can get nasty.
