This guy (Aaron Maund) was kicked out by the US youth under 17 team, never played for them as he was just in camp. T&T picked up the fool took him to the last under 17 world cup finals (yes, we qualified) and now the player who swore he would never play for the US again even if called has accepted a call and is currently on the US under 20 team.
I believe the US should have some blasted shame and respect other Countires as we would have done the same once a player is cap by another team we would have left him alone just out of respect.
Now dont get me wrong, if a player was cap by USA and was thrown out by the US and he was eligible to play for T&T and decides to play for us, then I dont see no problem in this, but we spent money and time on Aaron and develop him into a better player not to mention gave him the experience and now he has turn his back on us. He even took another hard working players place on the T&T team.
See what he said here, the news is the 6th story down on this page....

Maund still opts for T&T over the USA.

I really donīt see what the USSF did wrong here, since he was born and raised in the USA, and developed by them. He seems to be the one having a problem making up his mind. Sonny Guadarrama similarly was born in the US to Mexican parents, got involved with the FMF and tried to get on the Mexican national team, and then tried to come running back to the US when he saw how tough the competition was. It didnīt work out too well for him as he didnīt make either team. Maund seems to have lucked out for now.

Ok fair enough, but my point is, we took him in when USA didn't want him and develop him further into a better and more experience player they the US should have respected that, no ?

Itīs actually a tough call. Many of the USAīs (and Mexicoīs too) best players were developed overseas, but that was at club level. Most of them never had any intention of representing those countries.
I think the problem lies with FIFA rules. This thing about representing a country at youth level and switching in your early twenties doesnīt make any sense, and isnīt fair to the countries that spend their resources developing a player. What Trinidad should have done (and what most countries do) is cap-tie him a senior level. Heīs probably too young to know what he wants.

The same thing happens in the opposite direction to the US all the time.
TT has tried to call-in Robbie Findlay and Quavas Kirk over the past year, both of whom were developed in the US. Robbie ended up choosing to represent the US at the Olympics instead, but Quavas may still switch to TT. We'll see. They've also called in US native Randi Patterson to their full national team over the past year.
US-born Isiah Ferguson has just been called in again for the TT U-20's.

This is just the way world football works right now. A player whom the US developed at their academy in Florida, Neven Subotic, has just decided to represent Serbia.

Now lets see what will happen, Aaron didn't make an appearance for USA at the under 20 world cup, I guess he will be begging to run back to T&T now..
