Spurrier is gone now as well as many other coaches, what do you think these teams need to do? especially the redskins. I think that dan snyder needs to back off.. and find a coach that doesnt spend the whole game on the sideline making faces at the camera. i also think that the redskins need a running game, now that we wont be a fun n gun offense. Corey dillon anyone?

This needs two threads.
One for coaching jobs is already started. One for other off season movement should be started.
I guess this will be it...

Can/will the Redskins make Champ Bailey a franchise player and thus protect him from becoming an unrestricted free agent?
Word is that the Lions will go heavily after Bailey in the offseason if he's a FA and try to lure him with his brother, Boss Bailey, who plays for Detroit. That would be sweet to see Dre Bly and Champ Bailey at the corners in Ford Field next year. Of course, I'd settle for Dre Bly and Charles Woodson, too.

Champ Bailey wants out badly.
The Redskins will probably Franchise tag him in order to trade him.

I've got a strange feeling that Keyshawn Johnson will be a Jet again.

Redskins.
Of course that is my standard answer for any big $$ Free Agent.

Nah, I really hope The Danny learned his lesson with the whole Deion debacle. We're already looking at picking 5th and if you franchise Bailey, we could have a real good first round. Now if only Snyder would hire Ray Rhodes and then stay the hell out of the way.......

If the Chargers picked up TO and got Eli Manning in the draft, imagine their offense (with a slight offensive line improvement).
- Manning to Owens?
- Manning to Boston?
- Manning To Tomlinson?
-Tomlinson with the carry?
That's scary, but it probably won't happen.
I don't want to see Champ go to Detroit, that's for sure.
I hope the Packers can pick up a cornerback, or else try out Michael Hawthorne above Al Harris who I don't think cuts it.

lol, flashback 1 year and Bolts fans were saying the same about Brees. What makes you think the Chargers stink won't seep into Manning ? Leaf, Brees, ... 3 tries a charm ?
TO needs a big market for his big mouth. Jets.
Dallas needs a RB. Would Parcells want to try to control Dillon ? Dillon ends up in Oakland.
Anyone want to try Sapp ?

I doubt many expected from Drew what they do from Eli. Drew was picked at the start of the 2nd round, whereas Eli is a sure thing to go in the first 4 or 5 (probably #1). Eli is the son of an NFL legend and his brother may go on to be one of the best of all time, although this doesn't that he is a better player, it is a good omen. Also, I know Owens will probably end up with a big team ,and the idea of him going to the worst team in the league this season is quite improbable, it's just a bit of day-dreaming. If the offensive line makes significant gains and they get a decent 2nd wideout, the Chargers could still have quite a potent offense with Drew taking the snaps.

No way Owens comes to San Diego, way too many needs to be spending big money on another WR. And if the Bolts end up using that first pick on Manning, they won't have any money to sign a marquee free agent anyway. One problem-child WR is enough for San Diego right now.

The Niners are apparently going to try to sign their two major free agents (according to Dennis Erickson). This means they'll probably be letting WR Tai Streets and CB Ahmed Plummer leave (both are from the midwest and want to play there).
And Owens didn't have the world's greatest opt-out year. He really didn't make a case for a bidding war, so the Niners probably do have a chance.
Problem will be signing OLB Julian Peterson, because the *#*#*#*#ing Redskins just gave Lavar Arrington over $80M, and Peterson is better than Arrington. (Hey, Snyder...thanks for setting the bar so high, asshole. BTW, you overpaid.)
It will be interesting to see who SF puts the franchise tag on (Owens or Peterson?).

Players moving...
Owens
Bledsoe
Key Johnson
Corey Dillon
Jerry Rice/Tim Brown??
Unrestricted FAs
Manning
Troy Vincent
Thats what I've seen so far. The Cowboys will be after a QB and a RB. Bledsoe played for Parcells, and played well. Who wants to take a risk on Dillon?

If Bledsoe does go to Dallas, Dillon would be a very good RB solution for 2 or 3 years and wouldf make them a serious force once again.
What are the chances of the Panthers picking up Champ Bailey? If they were to pick him or Charles Woodson, Chris McAlister or Troy Vincent (hell, maybe even two of them?) we'd be looking at a potentia all-time great defense... especially if (God willing) Mark Fields recovers from Parkinsons

I'd be surprised if either Keyshawn or Owens came to the Jets. The Jets need to worry about re-signing their 2000 draft soon, and neither of those receivers is worth giving up Pennington, Abraham or Ellis.

it wouldn't surprise me if Joe Gibbs went after him. He's dealt with "personality" players before ie: John Riggins and Dexter Manley. He seems to get the most out of them, and a big running back is important in his type of offense. Another player maybe ending up with the Skins could be Jeavon Kearse.

Just out of curiosity (since the Skins seem to be signing Terrell Owens, Jevon Kearse and Corey Dillon) how exactly do the Redskins plan on making any of this work under the salary cap? The grossly overpaid for three of the four Jets they poached last season, and then again paid way too much to extend Arrington's contract. The salary cap has to apply sometime here.

I would imagine Gibbs will clean hose. Bruce Smith will retire and Arrington just reworked his contract. From what I've read in the Washington Post, they will have about 3 mil or so to work with. And The Danny and his huge signing bonuses have away of making things work.
(I think Deion Sanders finally goes off the books this year too)
ps....I'm not real crazy about having Terrell Owens on my team. Yeah he's a great player, but what a putz.....

I read somewhere (I think ESPN.com) that Plummer wants to sign with the Bengals if he can't stay in SF.
Jets: need to re-sign Ellis, decide if Abraham is worth it, why do I think Charles Woodson will end up there?
