Having "guest" countries is annoying. They should not allow that. But I guess they have them to balance out matches or something. Whatever.

In a perfect situation there would be no guest teams. Unfortunately, CONCACAF is far from perfect.

It just sucks how they bring in all the "hard" teams and they end up winning it i.e. '03 Gold Cup.

2nd/ to increase ratings and tv sales.

Guests make the tournament always seem VERY amateur and 2nd rate, which it is.
What needs to happen is CONMEBOL and CONCACAF have to merge and make the Copa America - the real Cup of the entire Americas. That would be amazing and exactly what futbol in our region needs. Someone get the thieves Warner, Blazer and Rothenberg out of controlling our game this way and we might be able to do this.

you do not want any competition for mexico and USA? a 2 team tourney? booooooring
bad for Tv ratings and worse for the gate

Not going to happen CONMEBOL gains nothing from this. No way the South Americans would ever put up with taking orders from Warner.
