Christ, when it rains around here, it not only pours, it drops big honkin' golf ball-sized hail on ya, and then comes back to check if you're still standing, then takes out the thunder and lightning to finish you off if you are.

So the other day it really looked like it was going to snow.
Yet, the drought continues.
Oh well.

Attendance dropped off a bit from 2002, but is at where it was in 2001 and better than 2000. LA, Chicago and Dallas will each improve attendance. Not to mention the phenomenal side DC will field in 2004!

in my opinion freddy adu will bring many fans to MLS. Mainly because most of the soccer players in this country are around 14 themselves.

Popularity in viewing and playing are pretty much unrelated in this country. The NFL has great ratings, but how many people do you know over 25 who play american football regularly?

segroves, that doesnt look like my dad's handwriting
anyway, it is very important for MLS to become more popular, so it can have more money, then better players, then better competition, then better american players. And the worst thing is, given the popularity of soccer in America, MLS should be more popular. When I see the drop in popularity from 2002 it becomes clear that people saw the world cup and became interested in soccer, then they started watching MLS, only to lose their interest

Oh, I get it. The ratings for a regular season NBA game don't come close to the ratings for the NBA Finals. Therefore, the NBA is ridiculously unpopular!
Thanks for clearing that up, shell answer man.

you missed the point entirely
I didn't say that the world cup ratings were better than MLS ratings. I said the MLS ratings in 2002( a world cup year) were high because the world cup turned people onto soccer. watching MLS turned those people off to soccer, rather than maintaining them.
P.S. Fox Sports World is one of the fastest growing channels in the country wonder why

and segroves, don't make 11 posts a day for 3 years and insult the posted messages I have.
The people who are getting upset are living in a fairy tale bubble where MLS will become as popular as NBA or MLB. It won't if it stays like this, it's not keeping people's interest, that's why they are turning to FSW, that's the kind of soccer people want to watch in America, and i don't know how long it will be before Major league soccer is at that level
