As a prelude to WC qualifying next year, can anyone summarize who are the players that would be considered for the Honduran national team and what their status is? Honduras was such a force in qualifying for 2002 (Fifa team of the year in 2001?) but I haven't heard much lately about their players like De Leon, Sauzo, Nunez, Pavon, etc.
What are these guys up to? What clubs do they play for?

Hasn't Suazo been at Cagliari for some time (since 2001)? Does he play for them? Back in WC qualifying he was pegged to be Honduras's brightest star for the future. It surprises me that he hasn't moved on to somewhere else to play 1st division ball. Is he injured?

he is good, really good.
I hope he will stay with Cagliari next year (hopefully in serie a) but it will be hard to keep him.
btw to buy him not less than 20 million euros (actual estimate).

DeLeon is now at Fiorentina in Serie B. Reports are, though, that he will no longer play for the national team, because he has legal problems relating to his ex-wife, and he can't enter the country without risking fines or even imprisonment. Here's the link:

I have several Hondurans on my U-14 Rec team in Virginia. They are great kids and with good skills. I would appreciate it if someone could give me a rundown (in English) of likely Honduran starters for the US vs. Honduras game. Some background information on these guys would be nice, too. It would help me talk to my guys about the game at our Thursday practice.
Thanks!

Don't be ridiculous. He's a good player, but nobody rates him high enough to pay that kind of money. He's 27 years old and has been playing the last few years in Seria B.

Now if they could just get someone to coach the team and get a win.
He's 27 years old and
24. Born October 1979.

My bad. You're right, but he's still not worth 20 million. If he was that hot of a commodity he would have been picked up by a big club by now. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a very good player. My Juve thought about buying him a couple of years back.

He could not reach 20 million but just because of the financial crisis.
We will talk again about him and his skills next season.
He's not out to sell, he has 2 more years of contract.
I just stated that only with approx. that amount of money Cagliari could think about selling him.
