I'm sure we're not done talking about this one, so carry on.
Really hoping Cesc only gets the "couple weeks" version of the injury. It took me three months to even begin playing soccer again after medial ligament damage.

I went back to bed after the game and slept for 4 hours.

Saw this on another board...would be funnier if it weren't true:
The Liverpool fans joined in, in the end..
"The Referees a Scouser.."
"The Referees a Scouser.."
"The Referees a Scouser.."

Just saw the game....blood still boiling. The sad part is a really think that we would have taken this game without the fecking cvnt of a ref. Fabregas's injury on top of that is almost too much to handle. I'm going to try to sleep on this one.

I was bored so I check out howard webb's wiki and they have a list of players he sent off and an very brief explanation. Had one about Ade's
Arsenal, Emmanuel Adebayor, no reason (62 minutes) v. Liverpool F.C.
I wonder how long that's going to stay before it gets edited

Liverpool released Fabio Aurielo today and handed the #12 shirt to Howard Webb. After passing the medical, Webb, has signed a permanent, long term contract with the Merseyside club. Rafa Benetiz looks to improve his squad up front after struggling to finish in the final third and the former sergeant and referee has been brought in as the ideal strike partner for Torres. "I look forward with my partership with the FA...rnando," Webb said. "Although I can learn a thing or two from Nando and Stevie, I've got some tricks up my sleeve." Although the contract has been undisclosed, sources say the transfer and wages are enough to stall phase 1 of Stanley Park.

According to Le Formule, Lucas < Mascherano. Lucas Leiva is vastly overrated, never good enough for Liverpool and certainly Brazil. Poor timing on the tackle, the rich man's Robbie Savage if you will. Technically limited too. Couldn't locate a teammate with a pass unless they are only 5 yards away. Gets rid of the ball like a hot potato when pressured.
Interesting take on "Super Lucas Leiva":D

I remember Bayo being sent off in the League Cup final in 2007 for being African in the wrong place and time *not calling Webb a racist, that was just curious how all the Africans got sent off, including Bayo who was a peace maker*

Wasn't it Eboue who punched someone and he got sent off in a case of mistaken identity? I know he was giving it the argy bargy but Webb refused to rescind the card because he said he saw a punch thrown or something and he never did...and:

Lucas should have been booked 5 minutes into the first half and then sent off in the second. How much "persistent" fouling does one have to do in order to earn a card, anyway?

According to there fans, he filled Macheranos Boots perfectly, He did his job wonderfully. a great DM:rolleyes:
Run around, hit people, chase the ball, get it and give it to the nearest player on your team and run back towards your own goal. WOW:rolleyes:

That's exactly what Mascherano does...IMO he's the only defensive midfielder I've ever seen who can't tackle properly.

About the only good thing in this match was Van Persie's strike.....what a great right (chocolate legged) finish.
The rest of the match was crap as was Webb's officiating. Lucas should've been booked in the first half. It was ridiculous that Webb was pointing out all his fouls to him but then proceeded to let him off without a booking afterward.
I hope Cesc is back in 3 weeks but I'd doubt it. I'm in the process of recovering from an MCL injury.....happened election night and I haven't stepped on a pitch since.....hopefully will soon. Granted Cesc has better medical/physical therapy care.
Anyhow....ugh. Onward.
