Ukraine is horrible!! At times they are a decent hockey nation, but this year must be an off year for them.

I read on canoe.ca that Canadian players lent them tape and skate laces because the Ukrainian players didn't have any.

Sweden has sent one of their weakest teams in recent memory. With that being said, it was a big win because it meant that the US went undefeated in the round-robin and received a bye to the semi-finals.

For Americans who might want to follow the game (I assume it won't be on TV in the US)... Fan 590 out of Toronto should have it on live (radio)

If you have the NHL pack in the USA you will be able to see the Championship game on Monday, also the U-17 team at the Viking Cup will be on after that basically the Viking cup is our best players from the USHL against European teams that have younger players. In comparison to soccer the teams the US are playing are like the teams England sends to the U-20s

Don't forget the U17 World Hockey Challenge, which is considered the "unofficial" U17 World Championships.

I didn't manage to get to any of the U-17 games, but a bunch of my friends went, and apparantly they were good.
They got good crowds for the Atlantic games, anyway (5-6000), with a bunch of Newfoundlanders on the team. Team Atlantic almost got to the semi final, but were beaten by Germany when they needed to win.
Oh well.

Gold Medal
USA 4 Canada 3
Canada had a 3-1 lead going into the third period. The game winning goal was basically an 'own-goal' by Canada. The goalie tried to clear the puck, bounced off a Canadian player and into the net.
Congratulations to the Americans. Canada couldn't hold a two goal lead in the thrid and the US deserved to win.
Bronze Medal
Finland 2 Czech Republic 1

Nice win for the US, it's their first of the tourny. They were the only team to remain undefeated.
