King should be back. Corluka and Pavy will also be back. Modric, Bent and Lennon will all face late fitness test.
We won here earlier in the season(in the league cup), can we do that again?
A draw would be nice...:o

Archibald on SO says that Woody and JJ are out, and that Modric, King and Lennon traveled.

Nicky Butt has dominated this fixture in recent years, which tells you a lot about JJ's inconsistent ability to impose himself in the middle of the park. Since JJ's not playing, a key to success will be whether Tommy H can step up and orchestrate our play the way Carrick used to. Last week showed that he doesn't look completely overrun if the opposition's central midfield is also unathletic (Carrick/Fletcher), although I don't know much about Danny Guthrie and co.

We can't afford to lose to one of our fellow strugglers. The way this year's league is, every point is crucial - as is preventing opponents from winning. Good wins today for Blackburn and Sunderland, and surely Man City won't be down there long. We are still in the thick of it.

This game is going to be a hard fought affair. I think a draw is in order due to both teams being on a hot streak. Martins in years past has punished us and I think we need to really take him out of the game.
I think this will be a good game for the neutrals cause there will be a lot of attacking football. Can't wait.

Going to Newk-ASSLE has been a real pain in the ass in recent years. Hopefully the victory in the Carling Cup this season will help Spurs set aside their past league struggles there. I really really hope we can pull out a win. That would put us into 12th I think.

This lineup writes itself:
------Gomes-------
Corluka-King-Dawson-BAE
Lennon-Hudd-Zok-Bentley
---------Modric-----
-------Pav----------
Dawson for Woody assuming he's out (along with JJ). Personally I'd like to see either O'Hara or Bale start instead of Bentley, but I don't think we'll see it. Will see one of them if Lennon or Luka's out though.

the problem is that since the fixture was moved from its original saturday time to sunday, it can't be shown live as FSC and Setanta are showing the previously scheduled 8am est and 11am est matches. FSC has it on delay at 5pm I think. I have a decent stream to watch it on. http://www.ustream.tv/videoplayerpopup/channel/406889 access code is 5000

Didn't see the game but on the forums fans reckon we were the better team. Which makes giving up a late goal even more frustrating...and to former target Duffman :(

Indeed, even thou Newcastle played a honest, well-fought game.
More points thrown down the drain for Spurs. :(

Well I was watching FSC Super Sunday god knows why. They didn't show the game but they showed the tables completed updated so I saw who won the game anyway. What a bunch of morons, I really wanted to watch the game from the tape delay. Still will but FSC need to be smarter if a game is to be shown later and not show who won it via the tables. It seems harsh to lose in the 90th guess I will relive that later on today while watching the game.
I knew it was going to be tough cause they have had our number for a while but this is getting upsetting. Also from what I read elsewhere David Bentley had another poor performance. I heard his corners were pretty poor as per usual. 18 mil down the drain as I see it, and now we want another suspect winger in Downing. Granted he may be a better crosser from what I have seen this year but I'm worried about consistency which seems to be our weakness. Downing is just paper talk but from all the targets and rumors I have read I'm pretty depressed at some of the names I see. None of them excite me at all.

We always lose at St. James Park. Every year the entire board talks about how Newcastle aren't a big club. Every year people joke about Newcastle. Every year people act like they're devoid of talent. Every year Newcastle are in turmoil. Every year we go up there and lose. Maybe, just maybe, we need to recognize that their big stadium creates a nice atmosphere in which to play and we should quite talking about how superior the Lane is compared to big stadia. Maybe we should acknowledge that Newcastle has talent. And in my own personal pet peeve, maybe we should actually get motivated to play there and go on the road into that rough place to play and simply outplay them. Bah, so many teams lose to everyone else and beat us. We need to put the effort into winning the Fulhams, Stokes, and struggling Newcastles like we do into giving the Manchester United's and Chelsea's a game.
I thought Harry had sorted out our priorities, but if we can't score more than 1 against that Newcastle defense, we're not trying hard enough IMHO.
