all english teams out? i think the more likely scenario is all italian teams out, they all 3 got tough draws and you can make an argument that all 3 are underdogs. was tough on england as well, 3 italian teams plus real madrid, spain got a pretty favorable draw on the whole though.
a lot of good matches though, I really look forward to this round of 16.

According to Le Formule, not all 3 Italian teams will exit. Jose Mourinho shall celebrate across the length of Old Trafford once again.

Nice to see all the EPL teams get tough draws. Hopefully at least 2 will get knocked out.

It's really hard to say who will win out of the English and Italian teams... I think it's a toss up between Inter and ManU... We're talking about two massive clubs, but neither has impressed me this season and made me think, they're the teams to beat... I actually see Chelsea as the underdogs against Juventus, they have been playing really well lately and I'm not at all just talking about that crushing victory over Milan... A couple of good mid-season signings and they might have a chance to go all the way... I really don't know what to say about Arsenal and Roma... I'd say they've had indifferent seasons... I would like to think that Arsenal would be the favorites... If Liverpool can get Torres back, I haven't exactly followed to know how long he would be out, but I would give them the nod to beat Real Madrid, but they do look like a different team with Ramos at the helm... But, I still think the team to beat is going to be Barcelona, I'm not saying Lyon have no shot, but I think it's going to take something special for them to beat Barcelona, not just once, but over the course of two legs... Lots of great games, I can't wait to watch...

Eh? You got that from a meaningless game against Zenit and a match in which Madrid barely touched the ball? That will go down as one of the dumbest manager changes ever!
But it should be interesting to see how Liverpool does when they don't have the advantage of being 30 points out of a title race and able to focus entirely on Champions League.
We will probably have at least 6 quarterfinalists from either England or Spain. Arsenal is the only one out of those 2 leagues I'm not sure about. Too erratic (like Roma). It'll all come down to which of those teams are in better form in two months time.

Quick Question, why do English teams play well against Italian teams but struggle against Spanish teams and why do Spanish teams struggle against Italian teams, there must be a valid reason because this trend always comes up for the last 4 plus years i have been watching the champions league?

most italian teams have to keep the ball and keep their shape against the more physically dominant english teams, only milan has been able to do that with the technical play and discipline (and only then when on form), whereas the counter attacking style can usually work against spanish teams as roma showed against real madrid and juve against madrid this year, since they tend to leave bigger gaps...I think it is a style issue.

I actually did not watch that game against Zenit... I'm just basing my conclusion on their game against Barcelona in which I thought they could've actually won that game and the fact that it was a game in which I thought they would get absolutely abused... I mean I know they lost the game, but I didn't even expect them to have a chance to win that game... They seem like a different team now, similar to Tottenham with Redknapp... Plus the Jan. signings that will be coming in... Only time will tell though... I will agree with you in terms of how Liverpool will approach this match though... From glancing at the schedule, the 1st tie will fall between playing Man. City and Middlesbrough and the 2nd tie will fall between them playing Sunderland and ManU...

Lol this post made me laugh due to it's blatant bitterness and obvious anti-Englishness. Calm down dear, it's only a commercial.
Anyway i think United will knock out Inter, Roma will knock out Arsenal, Chelski will just edge Juve and Liverpool will knock out Madrid.
The Chelsea/Juve tie is a close one to call, but i think Chelski will win at the Bridge and get a draw in Turin.
Look, i'm a passionate United and Premier League fan, but i know Italian and Spanish teams are very good and anyone of them can win the tournament. I respect them and i woudn't be overcome with shock if all the English teams went out.
But i'm fed up with Spanish, Italians and other foreigners constantly insulting and having a go at our leauge. The Premier League is very good, that is a fact.

What, why are you even taking that post seriously.
Anyway to the person earlier in the thread who said all English teams could go out, i agree, i hope not though.:(

LOL. cause there's no threads around here insulting serie a or la liga right?
if you can't take what you read on here than don't post. plenty of people on here have a go at all the leagues in the world not just the PL.

Its to early to predict anything.
The majority of prem teams are in bad form or are suffering from injuries. You have to assume that Arsenal gets their shit together in time to beat Roma, especially if Roma is devoid of Totti (how long Totti can stay unscathed until the encounter is anyone's guess).
You'd think Chelsea will handle business against a considerably less talented Juventus team but then again Chelsea's away form in Europe overall has been atrocious except for last year although they faced nobodies right up to the finals.
Manchester should by all accounts beat a very uninspiring continental Inter club but then again ManU has to fly to Japan to play an outdated and meaningless International game. And as a Milan fan I can tell you how costly that trip can be when it comes to the overall conditioning of your team for the remainder of the season.
Liverpool are not only my favorites to advance but to win the whole thing. They play the most compact football on the continent and their defensive game is world class.
On another note expect to see officials giving Enlgish clubs the majority of ill-favored calls because an all english final is something that UEFA can ill afford.
