For a second I thought the match was played in St. Petersburg again, the pitch looks horrible.

We could have had a huge chance but cacau pulled back by the last man - the referee somehow doesn't even award a freekick - then on the counter Lehmann is forced to make a good save.

It feels like we are just starting to get into the game.

And now Cacau misses pretty much a sitter.
Zenit also threatening on one occasion in between.

Well, we gotta score two now. Now it'll be very very tough.

I don't see it happening :(. Cacau is such a good player if you ignore the horrible finishing.

Totally unnecessary goal, schade, you were the better team so far.
To be honest, it pisses me off how easy German clubs make it for the European opposition to score, we seriously have to learn a lot when it comes to tactics, especially defensive tactics.

For a minute I thought Hoffenheim is playing against against Stuttgart because of the jersey's. :D

Now we need three goals to advance...weirder things have happened, although I'm afraid that Zenit will kill us on counter attacks in the second half.

Well, we're down 1-0 at the half. So we need to score twice to make it to extra time, and not concede any goals. Very, very hard. Not impossible, but it's hard for me to imagine.
A shame, we were the better side, out of the post and the open goal Cacau really should have scored one of the two, and then the whole game looks different. But that's football, he missed and we have to live with it. And this isn't really a criticism of Cacau, he's been one of our good players tonight so far.
At least Traesch is looking good at leftback, error-free performance by him so far.
I don't give up, but we've got a mountain to climb.

This is just the typical frustrating Cacau game for me. He works hard, wins balls, moves it around well, but he seems to really miss a good number of chances. Still, he has been playing well, so I hope he can just stick one in the back of the net.
Our defense has been so horrible lately. Even if we can score, I'm not too confident that we can keep them from scoring again, and that would be all she wrote for us.

Yup. Fourth ********ing game in a row that we concede in the last two minutes of the first half.
How can the side not learn not to ********ing fall asleep at that time???
4. In a row. I can't emphasize it enough. That's so pathetic.

Stuttgart missed 2 top chances by Cacau, but I don't think they were the better team. The game was pretty balanced in the first half (Stuttgart not risking too much).
Unfortunate goal just before half time (well, the VfB defence simply can't keep a clean sheet - like Werder). :( Now it's gonna be very tough...

Hilbert is too clumsy often, ruined a few good opportunities now.
Come on Stuttgart.

Yeah, Hilbert is honestly way too one-dimensional. Out of 30 crosses he makes, I think roughly one meets the head of one of our strikers.

Time to bring on Elson...
