He can score with both feet (when not wearing white and black), not to mention the head, and has very good movement for a big guy. Not just a poacher.

Ruud is basically "just a goal poacher" and he happened to be the best of his generation. I wouldn't mind if he had a career anywhere close to his.

In all honesty though, forgive me as I just can't see anything so special about this guy. He seems rather one dimensional and is benefiting from all the right pieces at VfB. As a goal poacher he reminds me more of Ailton and Martin Max as opposed to true class like Toni and Van Nistelrooy.
If I were Mario, I'd concentrate on trying to bang in goals for the National Team first before dreaming of a move away from Stuttgart because I can see his career imploding if the latter were done first.
Gomez and Martin Max in the same sentence? :eek:

Kidding. I get what you're saying! ;)
But I do think Martin Max was very underrated.
The guy wasn't big or flashy, he just scored.

I said we'd beat Hoppenheim today, I hope the boys will prove me right!
We're doing alright so far, but it's a very close game, no big chances yet in the first 20 minutes.
Two changes in our lineup. Boka is back starting at leftback, i'm not too pleased about that, and Cacau is back in the first 11 for the first time since returning from injury. Here it is:

For some reason I really wasn't that upset when Hoffenheim score - I don't know why I fully expect us to win this.

3rd match in a row where we concede just before halftime... very irritating. :mad:
Boulahrouz has looked bad on both goals, this time it was he who prevented the offside by standing further back from the other defenders.
I still think we can win. Just need to concentrate.

To be fair on the 2-2 Magnin looked worse than Boulahrouz actually, he gave away the ball very sloppily.
