Tough luck in the end, Hoffenheim scoring an offside goal for the 1-1. But Gladbach fought very hard and did well, it was one of their best performances this season imo.

It's Bradley who is very Hoffenheim-friendly in the situation. ;)

It was an offside, in fact it's interesting how you use a Premiere clip to prove your point yet I was watching Premiere too and whilst you use a clip of their live coverage, you don't use a clip they made AFTER the game in their highlights show where all the pundits agree and show why it was offside.
After the freekick the ball was prolonged by a header and in that moment Wellington was offside by the skin of his teeth. Premiere said so themselves since you like to use their clips. I can't blame the referee or linesman for not noticing, it was a very tough decision. But for a (biased) fan to pretend the goal was legal is just inaccurate...

ARD-stream just showed that Wellington was slightly offside. ;) Hard to see for the refs.

Nonsense; it was close but not offside, the lineman made his call. When I ref'ed you had to have clear separation to be offside. There was at least a co-mingling in this video.
Why no go for it all and say Gladbach was offside on their goal, you could say Friend was clearly behind the defense; just extend that that logic and say he was in the play as well.
I wanted to see how Bradley is doing and unfortunately Junior is doing his usual, "playing smart and safe" and setting up for the next play. Why Junior wasted the opportunity to go after the ball with all 6'3" (as he listed) as he had a chance to, is why I hope he stays in Euro and gets a LOT more experience before he plays for the USMNT again.

Clearly offside, you need a glass . :D Look at the clip in the 3rd second bevor the header forwarding.

Tough luck for Gladbach, the scene was close, but the Hoff goal irregular. :(
I have no statistics, but from my own "undocumentated long-time-
stadium/tv-studies" ( ;) ) that happen very often to teams down in table.

I don't know when you reffed but those are not the rules.
It's not nonsense, all the pundits agree with me, video replays agree with me, and hell now even berloha agrees with me.
So go figure.
Anyways sorry Gladbach fans - didn't expect this to become an issue - in this modern age of technology and video replays you don't expect you'll still get people disagreeing with a picture.

As you well know, the offside rule is the most debated rule in all of futbol. FYI here is the rule as stated by the august body FIFA:
Offside Position
It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.
A player is in an offside position if:
• he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the
second last opponent
A player is not in an offside position if:
• he is in his own half of the fi eld of play or
• he is level with the second last opponent or
• he is level with the last two opponents
Offence
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the
ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of
the referee, involved in active play by:
• interfering with play or
• interfering with an opponent or
• gaining an advantage by being in that position
No Offence
There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:
• a goal kick
• a throw-in
• a corner kick
Infringements and Sanctions
In the event of an offside offence, the referee awards an indirect
free kick to the opposing team to be taken from the place where the
infringement occurred (see Law 13 – Position of Free Kick).
The linesman had the best view in the match to make the call, he did. In his judgement, Bradley kept the attacker "level". To think that this video supports another call is fantasy.
Talk to 10 linesman about what "level" is and you will get 10 answers; all of them "right". Is it any part of the body, most of it, all of it that makes the player "level"? I looked at the same video (linked above) you and your pundit friends did and I say; inconclusive as to whether any part of Bradley's body kept the attacker "level" and hence onsides or offsides. Bummer to lose 2 points in the final minutes; it happens.......

In 2005 The International Football Association Board agreed a new Decision in Law 11 that being 'nearer to his opponent's goal line' meant that "any part of his head, body or feet is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent. The arms are not included in this definition."[1] This is taken to mean that any part of the attacking player named in this Decision 2 has to be past the part of the second last defender closest to his goal line (excluding the arms) and past the part of the ball closest to the defenders' goal line.

Such things always happen in sport, so we have to deal with wrong decisions. If Oliver Neuville scored the 2:0 (what a top chance) just 2 minutes before that scene, nobody would care about this offside goal...
But well, it's typical in our current situation to miss best scoring opportunities and concede silly/unlucky goals. Bailly, who had a great game, couldn't save that actually harmless header because of a 'Platzfehler' (what's the English expression for this?). I was praying that the Fußballgott would finally be a Borusse on Saturday, but this last minute has proved that he isn't :( (we conceded the equalizer and Karlsruhe scored the winner against Hamburg ... so we have a 4 points lag now instead of being ahead of them).
The situation is getting worse from game to game (especially when you see the other results) ... however, despite the current 4-points lag to the spots 16 and 15, there's no reason to lose the faith in this team! We haven't played badly under Hans Meyer except for the first half against Cottbus and the second half in Dortmund, so sometime we have to get rewarded for our efforts (even though 3 of the next 4 opponents are top teams again)!

Borussia 1-1 Hoffenheim
In a keenly fought and exciting 1-1 draw against league leaders 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon Borussia looked like sure winners for much of the game.

Platzfehler = crappy, uneven pitch
Yep, it seems that the pitch wasn't perfectly prepared in the 5m box (no wonder, since it's winter), so the flight path of the ball looked pretty strange. First I thought it was a goalie mistake ... but when you have a closer look at the scene, you see that the ball gets a weird spin after hitting the ground in front of Bailly. Typical tough luck when you fight against relegation.
Btw: Rob Friend got his 5th yellow and will be missing the next game in Bremen. Well, that's the chance for Neuville & Colautti to show that they can score goals, too...

The day after
After going over the game again no one at Borussia could take any real pleasure from the point against Hoffenheim. But the focus is on looking forward.

Logan Bailly would surely have gotten a "2" if that last-minute goal (where he looked a little bit 'unlucky') didn't happen.
