Borussia stay up
We’ve done it! A 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund on the last day of the season sees Gladbach retain their top flight status.

Btw: We've signed a 21-year old midfield talent from Mainz 05 today. Herzlich willkommen, Roman!

He'd like to return (although being a starter at Getafe), but we've already signed Marcel Meeuwis. Nearby it's unlikely that we can afford paying the transfer fee Getafe wants...

Another midfield talent (19 years old, several BL clubs wanted him) has just been signed. Herzlich willkommen, Marco Reus! :)

Ive heard you guys are pretty aktive on the market right now.
From what I heard Onyewu is very close to becoming a Borusse and Rakitic is on your wish list.
That would be some great transfers.
Anything true about that?

Good to see they're already thinking about next season...We have a lot of time to make it right this time. We survived the crucial first season, now it's time to aim higher...
By the way, any news about the budget for next season or is it to early?!
Been working a lot lately so it's hard to update...

Correct. Until today we signed
Marcel Meeuwis from Roda Kerkrade, DM, extended roster of the Oranje team, as successor of Galasek
Marco Reus from Ahlen (BL 2), LW, Germany U20 international, young player with good prospects
Roman Neustädter from Mainz (just promoted from BL 2), DM, Germany U20 international, young player with good prospects
These are the players who signed contracts for both leagues some time ago. Now it's the time to use some money and strengthen the squad for BL 1. Onyewu is the major target for the back line. There was reported interest in Rakitic, but I doubt we will get him. Sporting director Max Eberl will negotiate in Belgrade with Red Star playmaker Nenad Milijas instead this week. We also need a new striker, and asked Schalke for the price tag of Hamit Altintop, but the main target seems to be Sweden international Marcus Berg from Groningen. We'll see how the team will look like. I expect a reinvestment of the Marin money plus about 5 million Euros, a turnover of some 60 m Euros, total salaries around 30m Euros.

Congratulations Borussia Monchengladbach! I am very impressed and pleased with the fact that BMG will remain in the top flight. In the end, the players and fans deserved it. I hope that the team can aquire some more talent this summer, and continue to be successful next season.
I am also very glad that BMG let my fellow American Michael Bradley develop his skills there. From what I have seen his passing and play-making abilities have increased, and the training at BMG made his fitness as high as I have seen it (as Lascho said it would). I hope all of the youngsters continue to improve for next season.

The talk here in the States is that Gooch (Onyewu's nickname) wants to try England again. We shall see. He would be a good fit for Borussia, though he does tend to get carded a lot (partly due to his size--partly due to his aggressiveness).

All sources - except for our official hp - are reporting that Hans Meyer will leave us after his accomplished mission. I expected this to happen for many reasons (the main reasons surely are his partner in Nuremberg & the BLÖD campaign against him) and also wouldn't be surprized to see Friedhelm Funkel becoming his successor (that's what I wished a few weeks ago).
Goodbye and thank you a lot for saving our ass again, dear Hans! We'll never forget you! Your memorial in the Old City of Mönchengladbach has already been built. ;)

Now enjoy your life with Mrs. Zimmermann in the beautiful city of Nuremberg. I bet you'll have enough time to go to the theatre every day, hence! :-)
And hopefully we'll see you very often on the main stand at Borussia-Park in the future, your advice will always be appreciated!
