Will you go for new keeper?

I mean Gospodarek looked solid for me in the matches he played,
while Heimeroth, well ..., looked "unlucky" in many scenes.

I've seen the tournament on WDR (good quality natural grass pitch instead of the usual artificial grass pitch) and am still ravished by Marko Marin's skills! :) No wonder he got awarded with the title "best player" of the tournament. Roberto Collauti & Oliver Neuville played pretty well, too ... what gives some hope for the Rückrunde.

Good job from our guys, hopefully this will boost their confidence ... and not be a bad omen (2 years ago, we won the 'Düsseldorf Cup' with a final victory against Leverkusen - on the normal pitch, though - and got relegated at the end of the season).

Naz: There were a few problems at BS over the holidays (threads locking up and repeating posts)--you were not the only one with problems but your problems seemed to be more severe. It took them a little while to get them fixed as the programmers were gone for the holidays. You can see some threads on the topic under "Customer Service". As far as not noticing you were gone, many of us regulars do not post all the time and occasionally take time off--we probably thought you were following the team to Gran Canaria. :-)

we probably thought you were following the team to Gran Canaria. :-)

Indeed :D ... especially, since the team officials decided to travel there not just for the tournament but for a whole week of preparation due to the bad weather conditions in Germany these days (snow and very cold).

Btw: As compensation for your suffering during the holidays, I've got a nice "nostalgia clip" for you, Naz. ;)

and how happy are you guys with your new transfers?

Imo Dante and Bailly look promising, but I somehow doubt that Galasek and Stalteri are still as good as the were a few years ago.

But who knows there are a couple of golden oldies in the BL.

Also at first demoting Heimeroth and then keeping him instead of Gospodarek makes little sense to me.

What about the player that will leave the club? Will you miss any of them?

For me even in his prime years Voigt has always been a second league player.
But I did expect more from Ndjeng and still do believe that he has the poential to make it in the 1. BL

I think they are ok.

Imo Dante and Bailly look promising, but I somehow doubt that Galasek and Stalteri are still as good as the were a few years ago.

We'll see. At least we didn't pay a transfer fee for them, so we have nothing to lose, I think. Stalteri was an important player for Fulham last season and Galasek played all games over 90 minutes for Ostrava (even in the UEFA Cup) this season.

Also at first demoting Heimeroth and then keeping him instead of Gospodarek makes little sense to me.

I was surprised as well ... but it definitely makes sense (although I feel sorry for Uwe, who did a solid job when he played), since Heime is younger and has more potantial in my eyes. Nearby he isn't that injury-prone...

It wasn't Hans Meyer's decision to take Heimeroth off the squad before the Bochum match but that from Christian Ziege (he & Uwe are known to be good friends).

What about the player that will leave the club? Will you miss any of them?

Well, it's always a pity if you have to fire players with re-promotion merits ... but to be honest, it was necessary in order to have a chance of avoiding relegation. All that counts now, is the club's fate resp. keeping the league!

For me even in his prime years Voigt has always been a second league player.
But I did expect more from Ndjeng and still do believe that he has the poential to make it in the 1. BL

It's a pity for Alex, since he always gave 100 %. Unfortunately he's too slow for the 1 league these days...
I was hoping he'd move to my local club Greuther Fürth, but they decided for Christian Rahn (another former FC player ;)).

Marcel Ndjeng played a fantastic Vorrunde last season, but the rest was pretty bad (except for the Bremen game this season). He surely has some potential, but seems to lack mental strength.

Schönen Abend.

Well guys,i did expect it might have been technical difficulty..but i couldnt even reach to the support people, funny how u get addicted to the site;)

About the new players,as far goalies go..i didnt see much reason for adding a new goalie..gospodarek was good considering how bad our D-Line performed all season,as far as the other 3 players...not sure tho..specially with the brazilian guy...they normally dont do that great in the bundesliga..but he has already playd in europe for years..so lets hope we can see these players give us a helping hand!
Its going to be a very hard battle for us to remain in the top flight...but i have confidence in Her Mayer ;)

Uwe

That was a nice clip, you may consider it nostalgic..but there is a handful of clubs in germany and europe that cant even come close to having such a brilliant history and tradition!

Guys i can only imagine what kind of xmas and new years holiday Hans Meyer could have possibly had, I think the challenge ahead of him will be the biggest one yet in his entire coaching history!

Since we would never have another "Gunter Bruns" as our sweeper and back field leader...I sure hope the brazilian guy can live up to the expectations and somehow clean up this mess we are dealing with in the D-Line:rolleyes:

Btw: -10 degrees in Fürth and -7 degrees in Mönchengladbach at the moment. This morning we had about -15 degrees here in Franconia...

Please don't forget that soccer/football is a team sport ... so don't put all your hopes/expectations in just one player. Of course we all hope that he'll raise the quality in our D-Line.

Btw: We've lost a test match against the 3rd league leader SC Paderborn 1:2 today (in order to scale down Naz' expectations:-).
