Actually the dutchamn seems like a quality player...according to Alex Baumi he made life a living hell for him during the under 21 nationals( to something to that effect) and seems like borrussia scouts have been monitoring him for quit some time and just couldnt get him signed..he plays as a defensive midfielder......and now thw anticipation starts for tomorrows game:eek:

I chose to support Gladbach because it appears to be a real honest football club with solid no-bullshit fans. My mistake with getting into St. Pauli, despite living in St. Pauli briefly and going to a game, was that they aren't really about football and a lot of the fans are either phony or hysterically political. I was very excited to be apart of it at first but then as I kept in touch with St. Pauli fans and met new ones on various St. Pauli forums, I really just got tired of their crap. It's a game and I want to have fun watching it with people who like the sport, not debating the merits of Che and the "heroism" of going to Hansa Rostock away games.
Now, the criteria of a solid fanbase could fit any number of clubs. In fact, I was interested in BVB not too long ago as a possibility. But I really couldn't follow into the Westfalenstadion following; It is too much of a megalith for me to support without feeling like I'm just hitching a ride up the BL and nurturing anti-Schalke sensitivities.
Gladbach, on the other hand, could be supported honestly. They are way down on the table and they have been hopping relegation for a long time now. They will be fun to watch, and I know what I am getting into, whether they stay up or not, I will be watching and learning without attaching some big-club non-issue-headaches to my sport talk. Their fans are courteous and faithful, from what I have seen and read, and from the outside looking in, the development of the fan-friendship with Liverpool is really a fascinating phenomenon. They have a great website that explains a lot of the history of the club and how proud they are of their little town and its impact on German football, and the city itself is vibrant and rich in history, unlike, say, Wolfsburg. They have a relatively new stadium that I really hope I can visit some day. Basically, this club represents everything to me what the sport should be. They are a team that is about real German football and facing real football situations - like relegation - and not about babysitting superstar international clowns. I also hear they play creative and aggressive football, which makes me excited to see them play for the first time.
And that's just about covered it.

Thanx for the link, Luckie! Really nice story once again.
This game against BVB is going to be my first time watching Gladbach as a supporter of the team.
Welcome, mate! :)

Meyer: No more pressure than before
"The pressure’s been on since Christmas, so why should it be any greater now when we have an advantage of three points and a couple of goals?" Hans Meyer asked rhetorically at today’s pre-match news conference.

Let's hope so. Somehow I've got mixed feelings about this game ... since the scenario of relegation 'play offs' is not unrealistic (unfortunately, I expect Bielefeld to win & score a few goals against H96 this time). But when I think back of our situation from 2 weeks ago, I suddenly get optimistic and (in secret) believe in reaching the result we need.
There's hasn't been any draw between BMG & BVB during the last 15 clashes (whereas we managed to win 4 of our last 5 home games against them), and they also didn't have one single draw in their last 9 games (8 wins & 1 defeat) ... so the prospect of a draw for today shouldn't be that bad (for statistical reasons).
Hopefully there will be a big party at Borussia-Park this afternoon. A few weeks ago, we'd surely have been content with reaching the relegation 'play offs' ... but now we're very close to avoid them, so we shouldn't miss this opportunity!
Auf geht's Jungs!!

Nice to hear that. I knew St Pauli is a political club, something to do with left wing correct?! Sort of Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel. I think they even have ties with them...
Anyway, welcome aboard ;)

For what's it worth, I'd love to see an outcome that sees BVB qualify for Europe as well as ensuring safety for you guys. Not sure if the next ten minutes will see that happen, of course, but another goal for Eintracht would certainly do wonders for both of us.

We endured some very tough times here...but our tradition continues, we are proud now!
Hans meyer will always be a hero in gladbach history...brilliance at its best!
The small group of people that hung out here on the borussia thread experienced some very tough times, from getting relegated to qualifying back to the bundesliga...and this season which was a rollercoaster ...but am glad we did this together...i hope someday we can all meet in person and celebrate more success along with the green & black and white!
Uwe my friend drink some beer today and also have a few cold ones for me...lucky ,lascho , FCMN,TAFFVL,Kgilbert78..and the rest that i left out...BIG CONGRADULATIONS! Congratulations guys, aside from my own disappointment at missing 5th place, it's terrific to see the two Borussias playing Bundesliga football next season. Best of luck, and don't run it so close this time next year!

Congrats guys! You were safe all the way, but your boys outworked us and Meyer kicked Klopp's ass tactically!
It will be great to continue the Borussia Derbies in the 1st Bundesliga!!
