Btw: Let's hope that Cottbus & Bielefeld will both lose their away games in Stuttgart & Dortmund, so we can already keep the league on Saturday with a draw or win. If Cottbus get 0 points, we'd have definitely secured "play off" spot 16 even in the case of a defeat in Düsseldorf.
If we lose to Leverkusen, we'll probably need a draw at home against Dortmund in order to secure spot 15 even if Cottbus AND Bielefeld should get defeated. Only if we suffer a close defeat (i.e. 0:1 or 1:2) in Düsseldorf and Bielefeld gets hammered in Dortmund (i.e. 0:3 or 0:4), we might be able to even afford a home defeat against Dortmund (assumed that it would be another close one and that Bielefeld wouldn't get a high home win over Hannover 96 on last matchday).
As you see, we're far from being already safe yet. Just imagine that Cottbus & Bielefeld might succeed to surprise in Stuttgart & Dortmund (well, all is possible in this crazy league)...

when the reporter comes to meyer...what is meyer telling him??
The reporter asked him if he enjoys the crucial win ... and as you see, Hans was close to slapping him for this silly question! :p ;)
He's also been asked whether it's a great satisfaction to see Dante (well, we all know that Hans - in teamwork with Max - signed him in the winter break) score the goal ... and Hans' answer was that he doesn't care whether the winner was scored by Dante or our keeper Bailly.
Btw: It seems that you are the only remaining North American Gladbach fan on BS, Naz. What's up with the others these days?? Let's hope they didn't become FC supporters just because we're struggling this season. :-)
Have a nice day/evening/good night.

Sorry to hear about the Cup defeat. Well, sometimes it's good to be a supporter of 2 or 3 teams, isn't it? ;)
Yea that's the advantage. The disadvantage is that I'm not present in the actual games which is sucks, but still love these teams in my heart :)
I was already in Anfield once. Now I have to be in Borussia park.

Now I have to be in Borussia park.
Are there some cheap flights from Tel Aviv to Düsseldorf or Cologne? ;) Let's keep the league ... then we'll have enough opportunities to enjoy great games at BP (unfortunately, I didn't manage to attend a home game this season :().

Since when does Tobi Levels play midfield? I missed the last few games, but it seems like he is a solid midfielder.
BMG seem to be on their way to a strong finish. That would be amazing if they stay up. If they manage to stay up, and then rebuild some in the off-season, the team should find more success next season.

Our German/Dutch "bulldozer" (he's technically limited, but a great fighter and a player with 100 % passion for the club) is actually a defender (CB & RB), but has often played in the right midfield this season under Hans Meyer. He's the perfect guy for a tough fight like in Cottbus, that's why he started on Wednesday. And he was our best player (together with Dante & Bailly)!! :)
Here's the player ratings:
KICKER
Bailly (3) - Stalteri (3,5), Brouwers (3,5), Dante (2,5), Daems (4) - Paauwe (4,5) - Levels (3,5), Bradley (4) - Baumjohann (3,5), Matmour (4), Colautti (5)
67. Marin (-) für Baumjohann
90. Neuville (-) für Colautti
90. + 3 Kleine (-) für Matmour
TORFABRIK

Bailly (2,5) - Stalteri (3), Brouwers (3), Dante (3), Daems (4) - Paauwe (3,5) - Levels (2), Bradley (4) - Baumjohann (4,5), Matmour (3,5), Colautti (4)
67. Marin (3,5) für Baumjohann
90. Neuville (-) für Colautti
90. + 3 Kleine (-) für Matmour
TF's ratings for Dante & Baumjohann are a bit harsh in my eyes. Dante made a great save (perfect tackling) against Shao which secured the 0:0 just 2 minutes before our goal and scored the vital 1:0 ... so he deserves a "2". And Baumjohann played well at least after the interval, so I'd rate him with a "3,5" (or at least a "4") .

Well guys have a great weekend.
Please keep your fingers crossed and any other part of your anatomy.
But for the wife going out with her friends tomorrow night I would have been at the match.
Will be in front of the TV with the live ticker on.

hehe I'm sure Mattheus and Jammer know the answer for that...;)
Good luck for us tomorrow, one little step that's all we need.

25 thousand gladbach fans in attendance tomorrow...no away game will feel like that, its time to take full advantage of such opportunity and put Leverkusen away..and let them rest in peace!
Am surprised about doubting "Tobbi levels" he has always been on my fav list,Not only he is physical and solid in the back..he also has offensive qaulities and plays great on the flanks:rolleyes:
Uwe..i have always been the only gladbach fan in any town/area which i have lived( so north america is no different)....and people always used to bug me and argue with me about my reasons for being a gladbach fan vs say bayern, man -u,milan,dortmund etc etc...i actually like being separated from the rest of the commercial bandwagon supporters of huge clubs that are hot at the moment or have won many trophies..there is a special great feeling about not being part of those big supporting fan groups, besides a team like gladbach is not about trophies and there is more to its tradition and unique history that i take pride in.....who knows maybe am crazy!
Anyway i hope we can continue our positive stride this week..with a win tomorrow :)

one little step that's all we need.
Yep. Let's hope we'll manage to make this little step, so team & fans can enjoy a great party.
According to the official Bayer hp, there will be more BMG than Leverkusen fans at stadium ... what means that our team will be supported by 25,000-30,000 people! Must be a fantastic feeling (I know it from a certain 2nd league match for promotion about 10 years ago, when almost 20,000 fans supported our team in Nuremberg) ... however, the problem is that Leverkusen is playing better in away games and will surely be keen on leaving the LTU-Arena in Düsseldorf with a win. Let's hope that our players' confidence after the game in Cottbus and the fans' support will be sufficient in order to reach at least a draw (which would be enough if Cottbus & Bielefeld lose their tough away games)!
Unfortunately, Stalteri picked up an injury in Cottbus and we'll probably have to be replaced. Galasek's chances to return in the squad, are supposed to be 50:50.

That's exactly how I feel. Here most people that follow German football support Bayer Munich, Dortmund, Stuttgart and Schalke. I'm one of the few that support Gladbach. I see it as a good thing not to follow the mainstream. Besides, if Gladbach will run for a title one day (hope soon), I'm sure they will gain more fans. It's always like that...

Don't worry guys, we have enough fans in Germany at least (although we aren't that successful lately)! :) I don't think there's more than 4-5 clubs who have more supporters in away games...
Btw: There's still nobody from Israel on THIS (http://www.borussia.de/de/kontakte,115474,0.html) list. What about some fans from Netanya? :-))

Let's hope we can convert the first matchball today (although it's surely gonna be tough), so we can really enjoy the home game against Dortmund. If you have a look at THIS short clip, you can imagine what a party that would be in Düsseldorf...
Our defence has to show a very good performance against their top strikers Helmes & Kießling in order to have a chance of not losing the game. Nearby I hope that Michael Bradley will manage to neutralize Kroos.

Still shocked and incredibly mad! :( How can you lose 0:5 in such an important game despite the support of 30,000 fans?? Simply a shame!! Wtf. have they done since Wednesday night? Celebrated our alleged escape? Damn, this mentally totally pisses me off! We could have already been secured despite a defeat today ... but our clowns are obviously too silly for taking gifts and preferred being hammered like Bielefeld in order to still have a chance of getting relegated. Bravo, guys!
Now just imagine Bielefeld would have lost only 0:2 or 0:3 and Cottbus would have scored the equalizer in Stuttgart (they had the chances). Normally you don't deserve to keep the league with so much stupidity!
Although it could have come worse today, my mood is totally down at the moment ... and I feel sorry for all those fans in Düsseldorf.
Here's 2 match reports and the table:

15 Borussia M'gladbach (N) 33 8 6 19 38:61 -23 30
----------------------------------------------------------
16 Arminia Bielefeld 33 4 15 14 27:54 -27 27

17 Energie Cottbus 33 7 6 20 27:57 -30 27
18 Karlsruher SC 33 7 5 21 26:54 -28 26
Just let us lose 0:2 against Dortmund & face a 3:0 home win from Bielefeld over Hanover 96 (what is absolutely possible) ... and we are in the "play off" relegations against Nuremberg or Mainz. Not to think of a not totally impossible 6:0 from Cottbus against a demotivated B team from Pillenkusen (which will try to save power for the Cup final)...

Thanx to your guys (just imagine Cottbus would have scored the 1:1).
Well, our chances are surely a lot better than I would have predicted a few days ago. But you never know with these sissies (who got hammered in front of 30,000 own supporters)...
you'll need quite a bit of bad luck on the last day to full into the relegationsspiel place.
I experienced what happened to Nuremberg (they were 3 points and 5 goals ahead of Frankfurt more than 10 years ago ... and sensationally got relegated after a 1:2 home defeat against Freiburg), so I know what can happen. Well, our players obviously wanted to get a thriller on last matchday...

I think we're just lucky Bielefeld got pawned, and Cottbus lost.
I really feel sorry for the 30,000 fans that believed in the team, they are not deserve such an awful performance.
Maybe 3 games in one week was to much for these players...

Indeed. I've just seen the highlights of all games ... and can tell you that Bielefeld could have easily had a half-time lead in Dortmund and that Cottbus could have scored the equalizer in Stuttgart. Not to forget how lucky we are that Karlsruhe lost at home to Hannover 96 on Tuesday and Bielefeld to Hoffenheim (despite clearly dominating) on Wednesday...
The "Fußballgott" was definitely a Borusse during the last few days ... but our players shouldn't make the mistake to think he'll always be.
I really feel sorry for the 30,000 fans that believed in the team, they are not deserve such an awful performance.
The performance wasn't that disastrous as the result sounds. The problem was our poor finishing - Colautti (who MUST score the 1:0), Bradley, Marin and Neuville missed best chances - and terrible defending on the wings. Although we didn't deserve to lose 0:5, it's still a shame to concede so many goals in such a crucial game in front of almost 30,000 own fans! At the latest when Dortmund scored the 4:0, we should have tried everything to keep the 0:3 lag until the end...
Maybe 3 games in one week was to much for these players...
That might be possible and is the only excuse for today.
Have a good evening.

Guys,
Three weeks ago several of you thought we were doomed.
We go into the last game with staying up in our own hands.
I believe we are a mood team if Coulauti had scored early when it was harder to miss, the game would have been different.
Just ask yourself one question, did you expect six points from the last three matches!
Roll on next Saturday, the players will have had a good rest and be raring to go.
