Not sure, we gave a job to his father. And I once read a funny article, that he in fact negotiated with Wolfsburg, but they refused to give his mother a walk-in closet.

haha! Well show me one person whose professional career was not somehow impacted by their mother's closet space.

Ok i guess its kindda officially over now! Shame tho..a draw would have been nice :(

I dont see how we can collect enough points to stay afloat now..unless a miracle happens!

I don't agree. I never thought we could get any points in Munich; important is the draw between Karlsruhe and Cottbus. Our chances now are not worse than after the Bielefeld game.

Why give up when it is still in our own hands.
Is this not the accusations layed against some of the players.
Two home games that can be won will certainly create pressure for the other teams. And Cottbus and Leverkussen away are two places that are not as daunting as some.
Who knows what will happen.
However giving up is not one I want to side with.

Mamma mia, we really started with 9 1/2 defensive players yesterday  ... but the close defeat shows that it probably was the right tactics in this game (it was all about not ruining our goal difference). Thankfully KSC, Cottbus, Bielefeld (well, a defeat against Stuttgart would have been better, though) and Bochum didn't win ... so we're still alive. However, we have no other choice but start winning games, hence!!

I didn't see the game, but the highlights show that once again we made individual mistakes to concede both goals (Stalteri & Callsen-Bracker). If we don't manage to avoid this during the next games and finally start scoring again, our 3rd relegation will be inevitable (well, I'm mentally already prepared for it since the Bielefeld home game)!

Here's the match report and a few post-game comments:

Borussia edged out 2-1 in Munich

Borussia slipped to a narrow 2-1 defeat at Bayern Munich this afternoon. Filip Daems had equalised for the visitors from the penalty spot, but it was not enough to prevent the loss.

Naz, what happened to your well-known optimism? ;)

I dont see how we can collect enough points to stay afloat now..unless a miracle happens!

It's really hard to believe that we'll manage to collect at least 7 points out of the remaining 4 games (that's what we'll probably need for spot 16 - assumed we get a draw in Cottbus) ... but well, the 'little miracle' from '97/98 (when we made up 4 points to KSC and even 6 to Cologne within the last 4 matchdays) should give us a last ray of hope at least:

http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/spieltag/tabelle/liga/1/tabelle/1/saison/1997-98/spieltag/30
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/spieltag/tabelle/liga/1/tabelle/1/saison/1997-98/spieltag/34

Unfortunately we don't have a leader like Stefan Effenberg this time. :(

important is the draw between Karlsruhe and Cottbus.

That was vital, indeed. A KSC win would have been a little and a Cottbus win a huge disaster for us...

However, if we don't get the 2 wins and 1-2 draw(s) out of the last 4 games, the other results will become meaningless.

Two home games that can be won will certainly create pressure for the other teams.

Of course they can be won theoretically ... but it's surely all but likely to happen when you consider the fact that our players obviously can't cope with pressure (the same like 2 years ago), that we didn't even manage to beat Bochum & Bielefeld in an almost full Borussia-Park and that Schalke (hopefully, the loss against Leverkusen made them lose a bit of their latest self-confidence) & Dortmund are playing for an international spot.

Like Naz, I think that only a little miracle (what means that our sissies suddenly get lions) can save us.

Have a nice day.

PS: Did you see Hans Meyer in "Doppelpass" this noon? He stated that he's going to stay BMG manager for another season if we keep the league ... and that he's gonna resign in the case of relegation in order to give the club a chance for a new start.
What a tragedy it would be if - after Rainer Bonhof & Jupp Heynckes - another person with huge BMG merits should get relegated...

I will always stay positive because me being a gladbach fan..has got nothing to do with playing in the 1.liga or 2.liga...i was just looking at the way this squad has responded under pressure...and seems like they have almost given up/or dont care as much!
Anyway the results this week do leave us with a very narrow life-line...perhaps if all the stars and moons and sun..align properly we may be able to hang on to this tiny thread...and not sink to the bottom:confused:

Is it me,am i paranoide??? We are just one unlucky side when it comes to injuries, specially key players and positions..whats with all these injuries for crying-out loud...in past 3 years seems like gladbach is the most consistent when it comes to key-player injuries..week-in and week-out for months:mad:

"Massive injury worries for Borussia
Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Hans Meyer is struggling to find fit attacking players ahead of the game against FC Schalke 04.

Rob Friend, Marko Marin, Alexander Baumjohann and Oliver Neuville all missed Tuesday's training session.

Friend is still recovering from heel surgery while Marin is out with calf problems.

Still time for hope

Baumjohann has gastric problems while Neuville has gone down with a virus infection.

Meyer is still hopeful that one or two players will be back in training in time for the Schalke game "

He's our skipper (having leader qualities - unfortunately not enough) and one of the better players this season. After playing on the CB position, he's giving the LB (that's his original position) since Dante's debut a few games ago. Unfortunately, we didn't win one single game with him as LB (although he's doing a solid job and scored twice from pk's in the last 2 away games).

Thankfully, the game is on Sunday ... so there's hope that - except for Friend - these players will get fit on time.

We have to make the best of the situation now. No matter who's playing ... we need 11 lions on the pitch in order to enforce a win over Schalke!

Good news:

Rob Friend won't be able to play on Sunday, but he's finally back in training at least.

Damn, Leverkusen once again didn't manage to win a home game in Düsseldorf (guess against they'll probably win their first & only home game after the winter break). We can even be happy that they scored the late equalizer against Bielefeld at least.

Well, it's in our own hands now. If we beat Schalke, we could leave the relegation spots before the crucial away win in Cottbus next Wednesday (let's hope that Bayern gets all 3 points in Cottbus this afternoon) ... if we don't, our chances to keep the league are very slim. It's definitely a "live or die" match, and I hope that our sissies finally get lions and remember our home wins over Bremen & Hamburg. We've just won 1 of the last 14 games against Schalke, so it's high time to change this disastrous bilance!
