View Full Version : Die Fohlen sind wieder da - Borussia M'gladbach season 2008/2009 thread III [R]
Yeah but Gladbach seem like the type of club that does better against the "big" teams than the small ones.

Maybe you just expect too much from him and his character. I mean, he did it before when he left Frankfurt.
He left Frankfurt as a kid because they didn't want him anymore (they thought he's too weedy). What has this to do with the current HSV story?
Btw: Unfortunately I was right. Marin disappointed today ... and is the fans' scapegoat now.
Everything is still possible for Gladbach, I don't see how you're chances are worse than Bielefeld's, KSC's or Cottbus'.
For me, it would be a little wonder if we should manage to reach even spot 16! I expect Bielefeld and KSC to get 31 or 32 points in the end ... what means that we need 2 wins and 1 or 2 draws (losing in Cottbus is forbidden) out of the last 4 games against Schalke (H), Cottbus (A), Leverkusen (A) and Dortmund (H).
Now tell me how you want to reach 7-8 points out of the last 4 games when you aren't able to beat your "Lieblingsgegner" Bielefeld without their top striker Wichniarek. Not even the support of a 50,000 crowd and an early lead was enough for these sissies to finally get a win!
It's more than obvious that they can't cope with pressure (like 2 years ago) ... but this lack of fighting spirit (I still can't believe what I saw during the last 30 minutes) pisses me off! Something has been going wrong in this club for years now, so not even an experienced manager like Hans Meyer seems to be able to fix the things. Well, who knows ... maybe we're really jinxed since we have moved to Borussia-Park.
Buona notte.
He left Frankfurt as a kid because they didn't want him anymore (they thought he's too weedy).
Well, I heard a very different story from a Frankfurt scout and I tend to believe him.

Draw like a defeat
After the draw against Bielefeld and Cottbus's defeat of Wolfsburg, Borussia find themselves in the drop zone for the first time since Week 23.

Btw: What a nice thing to see Don Jupp sit on the Bayern bench next weekend. If he wants to make up for the disaster he caused 2 years ago with his terrible transfer policy (especially in the winter break), he should gift us 1 point ... however, as we know that he was the driving force behind Baumjohann's move to Munich (so far about his alleged love to Borussia), we surely can't expect any "courtesy". I suppose that our trip to Munich will just be about not totally ruining our goal difference (which could be our last 'mini joker' in the end) ... as I'm sure that our sissies will have their legs turned to jelly when they enter the stadium.

1 is not enough... he should give us what he never accomplished in his legendary active career: 3 points for Borussia from Munich, and his name won't be smutted by this dirty job.

It was a dissappointing drive back to Gutersloh Sunday night.
I thought the team selection to negative.
I agree some of the players gave up, some though tried really hard right to the end.
However if we cannot score the league does not lie.
We can still do it please keep faith.

Well, we have no other choice. But let's be honest, who really believes that these sissies can avoid relegation after the "oath of disclosure" shown last Sunday? If you can't beat Bielefeld at home, how do you want to beat Schalke and Dortmund?

Well, let's keep dreaming. :-)
I'm gonna eat a brush if we win in Munich on Saturday! Believe me, it's gonna be 0 points (even a 1:1 like 2 years ago would be a huge sensation), so let's hope we can avoid a disaster at least ... as the goal difference can be decisive in the end. Unfortunately I have the bad feeling that we'll ruin it, too.

PS: Did you notice that we even had more points after 29 matchdays in our disastrous relegation season 2 years ago (when we finished on spot 18 with an 11-points lag to rank 15)?

I have seen stranger things happen in football thru my life, So there is a chance...and as i said it has been a strange season so far...for some reason Jupp coaching bayern and the fact that he has to face us..has given me some sort of a weird feeling regarding this game... we might even win it uwe so u better find a fav color for that brush :)...but on paper we have no hope specially when u see how our players have responded so far to much easier challenges:rolleyes:
Am sure Meyer will lay a solid foundation for us even if we crash down to the 2.liga! No other way to look at the current situation..and its the only positive thing i can think about!
Borussia, here is the thread of the Frankfurt forum of when it was made public that Marin would go to Gladbach.
It includes links and talk about news articles.
PRetty clear that it was about money and not about Frankfurt thinking he was not good enough.

Marco marin situation is "water under the bridge " so to speak , we got more important issues at hand to worry over right now...bottom line football is a sport that requires team effort and the collective will power of a squad to achieve their objective..am sure we would be just fine without him !

I am sooooooooooooo tired. Meyer invented a new tactical formation in the final training, they tried a 8-1-1-formation:
http://torfabrik.de/profis/borussia/datum/2009/05/01/fife-games-to-fight-for-our-life.html
Team Leibchen: Bailly – Stalteri, Brouwers, Dante, Daems – Galasek – Levels, Callsen-Bracker, Paauwe – Bradley – Matmour
Helenio Herrera would be envious.

Why is it so quiet out here??? Has everybody given up already...big surprises happen at exactly times like this!
All over the map everybody has already written us off....thats naive thinking, with a bit of luck and discipline maybe this squad would finally run on all cylinders and make history come tomorrow:eek:
Meyer will give this game "his-all",lets hope our players would also do the same...If and am saying "IF" we win tomorrow...we might storm thru the rest of this season and hold our heads up high!

If it was just about money (I don't think we pay millions to kids), he'd surely have moved to Golfsburg or Leverkusen.

Well, Baumjohann isn't available and Marin obviously suffered an injury in training ... so there's not many alternatives at the moment. Nevertheless, I can't imagine we're going to start with this squad (I hope that it was only a bluff from HM). But well, it doesn't matter which players we field ... as the result will be the same (=defeat) in the end. I'm happy that I'm not in Munich today (the refusal to work in Frankfurt 2 weeks ago wasn't worth the € 60 I paid on that day), since I decided to spend this sunny afternoon in a beergarden instead of being a masochist and getting annoyed again. I'm gonna have a nice cycling tour right now with my brother & a few friends ... and notice the
defeat (hopefully it won't be a real distaster) when I'm back this evening.
Cheers.

Not sure, we gave a job to his father. And I once read a funny article, that he in fact negotiated with Wolfsburg, but they refused to give his mother a walk-in closet.
