Borussia, I didn't read your posting before the weekend. I have also been to Frankfurt, and... hmmm... tried to have a great weekend. My best friend from school days lives there, another friend was there for the weekend, we've had a great Friday, a great Sunday, a great Saturday morning... and something in between I try not to remember. Well, at least the girl at the counter gave me a beer for free after the game. One of many, many beers yesterday...

IMO its over after the Bielefeld game too if we dont win that is,Not to beat a dead-cat here but "RESPECT" for the Gladbach jersey has long gone !
The body language of the players was horrible..almost like they are playing a warm-up match. Maybe 3 is a charm and we need to fall a 3rd time..in order to get our act together..what really scares me is maybe hans meyer has lost respect/control over some of the players:confused:
Nice photos UWE, specially the ones next & with the statue!

Good luck for the rest of the season!
May you come through infront of Hannover or Bielefeld at the end! :P

Fortunately, about 200 remaining tickets (the most expensive ones - between 28 and 35 Euros) for the away section were sold at a stadium cash box 2.5 hours before the start of the game ... and as we had been there already at 11:30 am, we were among the first persons in the queue and managed to get tix (many other BMG fans without tix weren't that lucky, as the tickets got sold out within 10 minutes).
Here's lots of nice impressions from the Frankfurt trip (I know the city almost as well as Nuremberg:-):

I think that's emperor Charlemagne. And I'm afraid he's a supporter of Alemannia Aachen, maybe that was a bad omen...

The Eintracht fans were really likeable before and after the game (well, during the game they shouted "Gladbach 2. Liga, oh ist es schön euch nie mehr zu sehn"). Some of them even wanted to exchange scarves...;)
Nice pics Borussia. I wouldnt pay 35€ for a ticket tough!
Thankfully I was among those people who had to pay "only" € 28. But to be honest, I was prepared to pay even € 40-50 on the black market...
Good luck for the rest of the season!
Thanx. We'll need it...

Frankfurt is a great city to visit (one of the most beautiful together with Nuremberg).
I think that's emperor Charlemagne.
Yep, it's "Karl der Große".

We'll, we gifted him the BMG scarf after the game in order to take revenge for the defeat. :-))

Hans Meyer is well-known for his "carrot & stick" style. It's high time to make use of the stick, hence...

Deep dejection
"A lot of the lads didn't play the way I expect them to", said Borussia coach Hans Meyer, describing the main reason for Saturday's defeat in Frankfurt.

I have to admitt I wasnt among those the first time they started shouting it aroudn the 60th Minute... That seemed a little too early for me. :D

Well I guess it was an important game and there was really a lot of Gladbach Fans, but in my experience it is allways possible to get a ticket infront of the gate for a fair price...
Then again I wouldnt neccesarily want to take the risk having travelled far. Ive just done it that way with all the games up here in the Rhein-Ruhr-Area... ;)

Be happy that you won't get jinxed like Nuremberg in 1998/99 (when they were almost secured and surprisingly relegated in the end). Their fans did the same to us after the 2:0 ... and we answered "Nürnberg, Nürnberg, 2. Liga, oh ist es schön euch uns folgen zu sehn". :p As we didn't answer this time, you can feel secure. ;)

I've just had a look at the FIFA schedule, and was not amused. Maybe the DFL commited a folly with the relegation playoffs. The second game is on Monday evening, 06/01. The USMNT play an important World Cup qualifier in Costa Rica on 06/03; official FIFA game, the players have to be with their teams 48 hours before kickoff. Maybe Michael will see the decisive game for his club future on tv in Costa Rica, if his father insists on the deadline.

Unfortunately, I don't think that the DFL cares for our possible problem...

Here's the player ratings:
Kicker
Bailly (4) - Stalteri (4), Brouwers (5), Dante (6), Daems (3,5) - Galasek (4) - Bradley (6) - Marin (3), Baumjohann (5), Matmour (5) - Colautti (5)
54. Lamidi (4,5) für Baumjohann
66. Neuville für Matmour
82. Kleine für Dante
Lamidi gets a 4.5 and Stalteri a 4? LOOOL. And Baumjohann gets rated better than Bradley? Is that the Bayern-Bonus...?
Torfabrik

Bailly (4) - Stalteri (4), Brouwers (4), Dante (5), Daems (4) - Galasek (3) - Bradley (5) - Marin (3), Baumjohann (5), Matmour (5) - Colautti (5)
54. Lamidi (-) für Baumjohann
66. Neuville für Matmour
82. Kleine für Dante
If Daems gets a 4, Stalteri (terrible passing and positioning) should be rated with max. 4.5 in my eyes. And Baumjohann deserves a clear 6!

Am Montag weilte der Techniker bereits in der Hansestadt zu Gesprächen.
Should this really be true, I'll get very mad on HSV  ... and be very disappointed with Marko (you cannot do such things in our current situation and ahead of a decisive game against relegation)! :(
Imo that a total "Stammtischreaktion".
Fact is, he wants to leave and all clubs need to start preparation for the next season way before the current season is over.
I'm sure Gladbach is also talking to players of other clubs already.
It doesn't mean he won't give all he has on the field for Gladbach.
I rather think 8.000.000€ sounds a bit low? I mean you got more for Janssen. But maybe that's the first sign of the financial crisis?

Imo that a total "Stammtischreaktion".
I'm surely not a person that loves "Stammtischparolen".
Marko has a contract until 2010 in MG (what means that HSV isn't allowed to contact him without informing us) and should be smart enough to respect the fans' feelings! In our current situation, every player has to be 100 % focused on keeping the league instead of talking with other clubs (that can be done when the season is over)! Just imagine the reaction of the fans if Marko shouldn't play well on Sunday...
I'd like to see the reaction of the H96 fans if their club was in deep shit ... and Robert Enke travelled to Munich (after a 1:4 loss in Frankfurt) for negotiations. That's a matter of character in my eyes.
I still hope that the "Kicker" report isn't true and he didn't travel to Hamburg after the Frankfurt debacle...
I rather think 8.000.000€ sounds a bit low?
They won't get him for less than € 10 million, that's for sure (especially, when knowing how much they earned with the Van der Vaart, Kompany and De Jong transfers)!
