After Rob Friend, we might have to replace another striker (Karim Matmour). :( This means that Moses Lamidi would get a chance...

The GODS HAVE SPOKEN my fellow GLADBACHER's...and they believe the same result as the cup-final:eek:
GLADBACH 3 - 1 VW
;)
Or the last home game against VW:

But somehow I can't believe we'll score 3 goals against them this time (they don't have just the best attack, but also the 2nd best defence) ... so I'd be very pleased with a 1:0 surprise in the end. However, our defenders will surely need a top performance & some fortune in order to prevent their class strikers Grafite & Dzeko from scoring! Important is to closely mark their playmaker Misimovic (Hans Meyer knows him very well, as he signed him when being Nuremberg manager), so both strikers don't get the lethal passes they are used to ... what means that Michael Bradley will be confronted with a "special task" tomorrow.
It's gonna be a very tough game, and we're the clear outsiders again ... but as we all know, this role suits us better than being the favourites (like against Cottbus & Bochum). With the support of 50,000 fans and a hopefully very passionate performance, we won't be without any chance (who doesn't remember the HSV home game?). I like the fact that Wolfsburg comes to Borussia-Park as table leaders and with 8 wins in a row, because there's a decent chance that they underestimate us and that their impressive series might find an end.
Have a nice day.
PS: Let's hope that Colautti will finally score his first goal.

Was Marin injured against Karlsruher or was he just benched?

I thought it was a 5th card suspension--confirmed by looking at kicker.de.

8 wins for VW in the past weeks just sounds about the right time...to be cancelled at BORUSSIA PARK, we have a very strong chance to pull them off that gravy train they have ben riding for so long!

 Unbelievable...we had so many chances specially in the first half...and finally when we score the equalizer...we cant control the game and at least take 1 point from this game, VWs 2nd goal at the 87th-88th mark just shouldnt have happened specially when we are playing at home with all that support...that was a total D-Line disaster! Poor Meyer..am sure he couldnt believe this blunder either...considering the other results today...the loss to Bochum is now extremely painful....Oh well perhaps even Meyer cant save us !

I'm once again pissed off by our naivity! Damn, we simply can't afford wasting best chances (especially Bradley & Colautti, who hit the post again) and making such silly mistakes against the best BL attack! If you score a late equalizer and don't manage to reach a draw in the end, you don't have to complain about being in deep shit again.
We totally dominated them before the interval and were equal in the 2nd half ... but can't buy anything for it, because our defence sucked! It's nice to see Dante score his first BL goal ... however, he'd better have done a good job in the defence! It really hurts to see us throw away precious points (as happened against Hoffenheim & today). :(
Here's 2 match reports (in German) with stats & post-game reactions:

After Bochum's suprising 3:0 win in Hoffenheim and Cottbus' home victory over Bielefeld (I was hoping for a draw), the table looks this way:
12 Eintracht Frankfurt 27 7 8 12 32:44 -12 29
13 Hannover 96 27 7 8 12 38:56 -18 29
14 VfL Bochum 27 6 10 11 33:42 -9 28
15 Arminia Bielefeld 27 4 12 11 22:40 -18 24
----------------------------------------------------------------
16 Borussia M'gladbach (N) 27 6 5 16 33:49 -16 23
----------------------------------------------------------------
17 Energie Cottbus 27 6 5 16 24:47 -23 23
18 Karlsruher SC 27 5 3 19 18:44 -26 18
To be honest, I really start getting worried in the meanwhile. We've suffered 8 home defeats after 27 matchdays only in 1998/99 - the season when we got relegated for the first time (with a huge lag to the other teams). It also was the only season when we suffered more defeats (17) after 27 games...
When considering our tough schedule for the last 5 games, it's absolutely clear that the next 2 games will be decisive! If we don't get at least a draw in Frankfurt (actually, 3 points would be almost vital) and a home win over Bielefeld, we'll definitely have to fear the "worst case" (means that even spot 16 gets in serious danger).
Here's our next fixtures and those from Bielefeld, Cottbus and KSC (thankfully, they have pretty tough opponents as well):
Bielefeld
Bayern (H), Gladbach (A), Stuttgart (H), Leverkusen (A), Hoffenheim (H), Dortmund (A), Hannover 96 (H)
BMG
Frankfurt (A), Bielefeld (H), Bayern (A), Schalke (H), Cottbus (A), Leverkusen (A), Dortmund (H)
Cottbus
Schalke (A), Wolfsburg (H), KSC (A), Bayern (H), Gladbach (H), Stuttgart (A), Leverkusen (H)
KSC
Hoffenheim (H), Leverkusen (A), Cottbus (H), Dortmund (A), Hannover 96 (H), Bremen (A), Hertha (H)
Schönen Abend.
Happy Easter to everybody who celebrates it.

I absolutely agree...the games against Frankfurt and Arminia might be the determinant factor for our survivial this season!
This is a very strange season...we play great football against the top teams or at away games...but we just cant score nor can we wrap up the game, Well its real and its happening...am sure meyer does everything necessary during training...the finishing touch tho comes down to our players:confused:
I was watching the live conference...and we totally had control of the game.I had a feeling dante would score...he has added lots of depth in the back field for us..but then right after he scores...he kindda screws-up and VW scores the winner right b4 the final whistle!
The mental factor is the key element now for us!

From my seat the crowd were fantastic until they scored.
We should have taken one of the chances when we were playing well for the 1st 20 minutes.
Do note that Dante's failure to clear a ball led to their 1st goal.
He did though play well in parts though his concentration needs to improve.
After they scored we struggled to contain them in the centre of the field.
We did well to come back and deservedly get a goal.
However Baily kicking the ball straight into touch led to their winner.
A point was there.
Looking at the schedules we can still get out of trouble, it is at present in our hands.
Everybody must stay faithfull particularly Meyer, who some, not me think he is a god.
Remember what he did last season.

Borussia unlucky to lose
A good performance wasn't enough to prevent Borussia from slipping to a 2-1 home defeat against league leaders VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon. Dante had drawn them level with 11 minutes left to play.

Maybe we should hire a psychologist...;)
However Baily kicking the ball straight into touch led to their winner.
Logan - who had 2 sensational saves before - can't be blamed for that goal, since midfield & defence had enough time to clear the situation (especially Dante & Stalteri did a bad job in that scene)!
some, not me think he is a god.
Whom do you mean by "some"?
HM isn't a god ... but a very experienced manager with great merits for our club (don't forget where we had been when he took over about 10 years ago) and a person that isn't responsible for our poor finishing & defence blackouts (look at both goals).
Remember what he did last season.
What did he do? If you mean Nuremberg, I have to tell you that it wasn't him who got relegated (you surely remember that he was fired - in a disgusting way - short time after the winter break, just 1 day before the UEFA-Cup match against Benfica) and that his team struggled during the Vorrunde due to injury problems & the unfamiliar dual burden with UEFA-Cup (if I remember right, that happened to Bochum as well under Toppmöller).

It is amazing how everybody views games and then has opinions.
If Meyer is Coach then he surely is responsible for players scoring goals and for defending!
It is he who coaches the team and then selects the 11 for the matches.
All I have read on this blog is he is fantastic and how dare anybody criticise him because of past glories.
Just because Bailly made several great saves that does not mean he is immune to criticism for kicking the ball straight off the field giving Wolsburg possession that started the move for the winning goal.
When Olly and Big Steve were both screaming for the ball to be kicked to the right side of the field to try and secure 3 points.
Yes the midfield and defence had opportunities to clear however the catalyst for the goal was initially giving away the throw in.
The performances since the break have been much improved, staying up is in all our hands, everybody needs to pull together and we will get out of trouble.

He isn't above criticism, but he has proven many, many times that he knows what to do, and that he is worthy of my trust and loyalty. We aren't talking about an unexperienced newbie to the job who gets confused and makes rookie mistakes. Meyer simply knows better than me in general, and I take this into account.

Nobody is immune from Criticism, in fact criticism is necessary sometimes, even Hans Meyer. Just like United fans sometimes criticize Fergy or Liverpool fans with Benitez.
lol Borussia, psychologist it's actually not a bad idea...

I agree. It's gonna be tough ... but let's use Obama's slogan "yes, we can"!
An away win in Frankfurt would be sooooo helpful.
Bonne nuit.

The problem with posting/chatting online is the fact that it lacks facial expression..so its tough to actually get a feel for what some people have to say or post..but i sense some anger towards hans-meyer..its ok we dont have to all agree on everything..but anyone that knows anything would agree that meyer is the best thing that has happened to this club in the past few years!
Lets take a look at the other candidates that might have filled in instead of meyer??? none can even be compared to meyers experience and qualifications..the guy has proven himself many times and thru the years with gladbach and with other outfits...i dont care if his a god because am not sure what god looks like or if he even is willing to coach a football team...
Specially when you look at what meyer has to work with and what kind of budget we have..its not like we have 4-5 top notch players in every post and we just need a genius to send in the right players and select the right formation and tactics...even if we look back at the golden years and 70s up to 2009 id say meyer is way up there and among the 3 top coaches that gladbach has had...again considering the tools meyer has had at its disposal he has done a great and outstanding job!
I dont speak in riddles so if somebody has a problem with meyer ..lets spit it out and squash this issue..after all there is nothing like constructive feedback and a legit opinion...if not then lets not point fingers here...And yes at this point and time its all about HOW BAD our players want "IT" compared to the other bottom of the table teams...and mentally how focused we can be..and not hit the panic button just yet!
The fact that our strikers simply cannot score in every game..or our D-LINE hands over the ball all the time...has nothing to do with hans meyer!
Last but not least...when u watch meyer on the bench you instantly see how much love & passion he has for gladbach...its genuine and very true and thats the sign of a great coach...i sure hope we survive this season..and see how meyer can take this club to its rightful place..once he has some piece of mind and time to lay out a proper foundation!
