We played badly (attacking without brain against a defence which had to replace both first team CB's), and then we also didn't manage to take our chances during the last minutes. Typical for tonight...
Damn, what a huge setback! :( We'd better have lost the derby and won this game. Wtf do we always drop points against our direct relegation opponents? How can you beat Hamburg 4:1 and lose to a team that hadn't won one single away game until tonight? Are we really cursed when we face Bochum...?
Well, the team seems to be too silly and obviously needs high pressure ... so let the guys travel to Karlsruhe now and face a highly-motivated host team (which hasn't won for a while and will surely give us a hell of a fight). If we continue losing the "6-points" games, we'll be on the last spot very soon again...
PS: At least one good news from tonight: Dante had his debut after the interval and did pretty well. Congrats!

Yes uwe its my newyear, thanks for the greetings man!
But this defeat really left a bitter taste....for some reason its really pissing me off,Not that bochum is not trying..but for us at least a draw would be a passing grade...i just dont understand how can we not win against teams that are in direct competition with us in the relegation battle, loved dante..his poised and very very solid...i think his our missing link ,but why didnt he play from get go??oh well...who knows..i guess meyer had his reasons...now we must hope and count on luck instead of sealing the deal at home with 3 points!

It's a one game I wish Alberman would have played, especially before the game vs Greece.
What can I say? We don't collect the points when we we really need to. I feel bad for the fans...

Alberman and Ben Sahar landed in Israel.
Basically he say that he didn't play yesterday because we were already with a goal behind, and Meyer looked for attack.

Guys,
49,200 fans were willing the ball into the net, without any luck.
The atmosphere in the stadium was electric at the end.
Do NOT lose faith, the results this afternoon have mainly gone our way and we still have 9 games to go.
Last night we did not play well however Bochum stuck to their guns scored a good goal and then shut up shop as we British say.
Remember one team.

At least FCE & KSC didnt gain any points this week either,It would have been a total disaster if they would have moved up the ladder!
But a win would have made a huge difference for us, specially from a mental stand point:cool:

Thankfully, Bielefeld lost as well.

Indeed. I'm still very disappointed with our lack of creativity (Baumjohann & Marin were totally invisible this time) after the unlucky 0:1! If we lose in Karlsruhe (unfortunately I expect it to happen), we're in deep shit again... :(

Bitter 1-0 defeat to Bochum
Borussia were unable to build on their recent good performances at the BORUSSIA PARK on Friday evening, going down 1-0 to VfL Bochum.

Pity that Alex Voigt didn't join Thomas Kleine & Sascha Rösler after the game (it seems that he was frustrated because he didn't play, so he left the stadium immediately after the game had finished)...

Sad to say i have a strong feeling about going-down at KSC! I really hope am wrong but its pretty consistent with our pattern of performance or perhaps luck this season!
The loss to bochum might have just been the difference btwn remaining in the bundesliga or another nose dive!
The only positive thing is dante, As short of a performance he had on friday..but he seems to be just the right person for our back field:rolleyes:
About that clip and gunter bruns hitting both goal-posts,i still remember it clearly..i even mentioned it in my very first post on big soccer when i signed up for the "GLADBACH FORUM"

Borussia stop being so pessimistic.
The team are in a position to get out of trouble.
Friday was a step backwards, as well as the two you mention, Friend and Bradley did not play well.
The loss was down to a bad performance and not a better team beating us.
The break may do us some good.

I'm just realistic. I'd be surprised to see us not lose in Karlsruhe...
Somehow I got the feeling that our guys didn't invest enough on Friday (the reaction after the 0:1 disappointed me) ... and that's deadly in our situation! :( When does the team finally realize that we can't afford losing at home against teams like Cottbus & Bochum if we want to avoid relegation? Winning 4:1 against HSV and 4:2 in Köln obviously made them underestimate Bochum ... and this mentality pisses me off!
Btw: Here's the player ratings.
KICKER
Bailly (3,5) - Stalteri (5), Brouwers (3,5), Daems (4,5), Levels (4) - Galasek (4,5) - Bradley (4) - Baumjohann (4) - Matmour (5), Marin (3,5) - Friend (5)
67. Dante für Levels
71. Neuville für Matmour
80. Colautti für Galasek

I totally agree that the attitude from some was not good perhaps that is imaturity of the young players.
However I agree with Meyer 6 points from the last three games was a good return.
In my time watching Borussia I can recall Bochum causing us problems.
Perhaps we are better playing the top teams.
It just shows it means something for us to be talking about it, my memories are the loyal fans who turn up and support their team even when it is not good.

Not enough all told
A decent performance for long periods by Borussia was not enough to secure at least a point against relegation rivals VfL Bochum on Friday evening.

Seriously?!
This is a MUST win! I have no doubt that Gladbach are better, there's no room for mistakes in this 6 points match. Keep the faith bro ;)
Btw, any reason why this match is on Sunday? (obviously next Sunday since this weekend it's the WCQ).

A "6 points" match reflects games where you are close to your opponent in the standings. It's not just that you can lose 3 points but that your opponent gains 3 point too if you do, thus increasing the gap. If you were tied before the game and won, you would be three points ahead of your opponent. Lose and you are three points behind--that's a 6 point swing in one game.

Fair enough--we've been talking about it a lot here in Columbus lately (though as a "four-point game" as hockey is different here) due to our hockey team's push for the playoffs as we are playing a lot of teams we are close to in the table right now, and not everyone here is familiar with the concept. I was not upset--just trying to explain the term.

Its like the term having your cake and eating it.
Why have a cake and not eat it.
Well it has got us talking, so who is your hockey team and do you follow the NFL!
