Congrats to all the fohls,2 weeks in a row must be a good feeling!
But the up-coming game against "BOCHUM" looks like a derby as well!
This game is very dangerous for us....and a must win,its one of those games that coaches ref to as a trap-game and i hope we dont take them lightly after 2 crucial back to back wins...i hope we fully understand whats at steak here and we can fully take advantage of our strong momentum and the playing at home advantage, hope to see lots of people coming out for this game and give their 110% support....am more worried about the bochum game compared to the hamburg & koln game!

have a great week all

Borussia notch derby win!

Borussia collected a deserved 4-2 victory in the Rhine derby at FC Cologne to climb another place in the table, at least until Sunday. Hans Meyer's men clearly had the better of the home side, especially in terms of the football played.

Good for the soul

It was the protagonists on the pitch who conveyed the good news about Borussia on Saturday, and it was the geniune football fans who urged on their team and reaped their reward with the victory celebrations.

I simply can't understand how some idiots among our Ultras managed to enter the stadium with flares after the happenings from last season! That's surely gonna be another fine for both clubs...
Why are some of our fans not able to behave in a derby? I understand that many are still pissed off due to what happened last season ... but that doesn't justify such silly action (not to mention the shameful behaviour of many idiots in the away section during Özat's farewell and during the minute of silence)! Thankfully, our fans rarely cause trouble at away games ... but it's the 2nd time in a row now that our Ultras don't behave in an away derby (and this can't be justified with the stolen & burned UMG banner from last season)! Unfortunately, it seems that we have a growing number of persons without brain among our fanship ... so we shouldn't complain about others, hence!

Herr Meyer the "CULT-COACH" has done it again, lets hope we continue with this positive attitude till the end of the season,I personally think the bochum game holds a HUGE IMPACT now...its no less than a derby if not more!
Am sure at this point our players also feel that everything is possible this season!
Now am wondering how things could have been with dante also present...prolly we would have more options, offensive ones i mean in our back-field!
anybody know whats the atmosphere like in gladbach and how many supporters will support DIE FOHLEN against bochum??We need a full house for this game!

Here's the player ratings (quite a difference between 'Kicker' and 'Torfabrik'):

KICKER

Bailly (3,5) - Stalteri (3), Brouwers (3), Daems (3), Levels (5) - Galasek (3), Bradley (1) - Matmour (3), Baumjohann (1), Marin (1,5) - Friend (2,5)

63. Neuville (-) für Marin
68. Alberman (-) für Matmour
90. Kleine (-) für Baumjohann

TORFABRIK

http://torfabrik.de/profis/borussia/datum/2009/03/17/rueckenwind-durch-derby-sieg.html

Bailly (4) - Stalteri (2,5), Brouwers (2,5), Daems (2,5), Levels (3,5) - Galasek (2,5), Bradley (2) - Matmour (3), Baumjohann (3), Marin (3) - Friend (2,5)

63. Neuville (-) für Marin
68. Alberman (-) für Matmour
90. Kleine (-) für Baumjohann

Btw: It's great to see that Roel Brouwers played well again and that Thomas Kleine is finally back after his injury! What shall Hans Meyer do when Dante gets fit...? :-)

Let's not talk about that game already, not a nice topic when you have a look at our historical stats. One single win in more than 40 attempts...
But I am optimistic that we're out of the mess when we go to Munich. 11 points from the last 6 games, and the next 6 are easier on paper. And we can feel the support of the following wind now!

Good luck with avoiding relegation, guys. The most important thing is for the team to stay focused, and never assume that they will win without trying.

Thanks. I trust Meyer 100%; he is experienced and successful in relegation battle like nobody else in Germany, and knows exactly what he does. The performances since the winter break show the success of his work. And he will care that the players don't get care-free.
Meyer after the derby victory:
"That was really nice. But it has nothing to do with the derby or Cologne: We needed the three points, and are still up to our eyeballs in shit."
Baumjohann: "Of course it was a special win, but you only get three points for it."
Stalteri: "We haven't achieved anything yet."
and so on.

I agree. It's a 6-points game and therefore even more important than the derby! All that counts on Friday night, is another home win! If we don't get the 3 points, the derby win was almost useless (although every point counts at the moment)...

I suppose the atmosphere is pretty good right now. ;) Let's hope it will also be good on Saturday morning...

Unfortunately, we won't get a full house on Friday night (many of our fans come from outside the MG region ... and a Friday game isn't that good for travelling fans). I expect an attendance around 45,000.

But I am optimistic that we're out of the mess when we go to Munich.

I doubt that. Especially when knowing about the tough last 5 games (4 against top teams, 1 away in Cottbus and 3 of them being played on the road)...

11 points from the last 6 games, and the next 6 are easier on paper.

Well, on paper. But I personally don't think that these 6-points games against teams like Bochum, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt, Bielefeld and Cottbus will be easier than matches against Hamburg. Every match is an "Endspiel" for us, hence ... so it would be not wise to become overconfident now! I still expect a decisive last game against Dortmund (although I pray that we can avoid it).

One good thing: Bradley is an animal. He will not be smiling or laughing or taking anything for granted. He is a snarling dog.

Seems like DAUNTE is fit,not sure if he would pass the fitness test..or even if Herr Meyer wants to risk it...and change the squad right now...since they are doing so well! But would be very interesting to see what he can add to our team!

Lets hope the "BORUSSIA BLITZKRIEG" continues this week at borussia park:D

@ Lascho

Are you going to attend the game on Friday?

Lascho
18 Mar 2009, 07:10 PM
No, I'm not. I have moved 450 km recently, and gave my season ticket to a friend. Now I have to follow the game in a pub.

Borussia
18 Mar 2009, 07:23 PM
What, you moved so far away from BP? I wish I could do it the other way and get closer to MG.

Btw: You can follow the Friday game via livestream, too (there's a few with good quality available on livefooty.com). I think I'm going to do it instead of travelling to Herzogenaurach again...

PS: 450 km's is almost the distance between MG and Fürth. You didn't move to Franconia by chance, did you? ;)
