The tombs of Bökelbergstadion shook once again as Borussia put forth a total team display defeating HSV 4-1
Unfortunately the Bökelbergstadion is history, Naz (it got demolished in the meanwhile ... or did you forget this? ;) ).
my prediction of GLADBCH3-1 HSV was as accurate as the 4-1 result,Uwe..
Indeed. When I remember back the Werder Bremen home game (when you predicted 3 goals for us), I'm getting a little bit confused. ;)
Please tell me how many goals we score in Cologne next weekend! :-))
i hope u gots me my GUNTER BRUNS autographe man....i will be looking for it so u better come up with something very soon!
Let's hope I can find him before or after today's game in Fürth. I'll try the best (how promised).
I saw the result in my cell phone and couldn't believe it...
Really? ;)

UWE UWE UWE...if anyone u should get my point, when i say the "TOMBS OF BOKELBERG " its like an expression....and because its long gone and ancient history & ruined, hence the term "TOMBS" it was more like a mythical expression...of course we play at borussia park...man i was throwing in some poetic expression..am sure u will someday hunt down GUNTER BRUNS for me...the game against the goat herders,hummmm.....i will tell u b4 the game ..too early for the gods to speak to me:rolleyes:

Have just returned home from the game, the 2 was full of very sad Hamburgers.
Poor guys. :-) Well, this was the revenge for our unlucky last-minute defeat against them 2 years ago ... when they celebrated, whereas the rest of Borussia-Park was full of (relegation) tears.
As for Jansen did he play?
I think so. ;)
A good all round performance with all players contributing.
Yep, it was great teamwork (every player showed an overwhelming will to win this game)!
It was hard to say who was man of the match.
Clearly Marko Marin! I take my hat off to him for this performance (let's not forget that he had the flu some days ago and wasn't 100 % fit)!
Do not be confused by the final scoreline as at half time the game was still in the balance despite being 2-1 up.
The first half was pretty balanced (with HSV being dangerous only in the first 15 minutes, though) ... but after the interval, we totally outplayed them!
Whatever Meyer put in the intervals drinks should be used every game.
Hans Miraculix! ;)
But don't forget that we also often threw away the points after the interval in the past (I remember many games when we played a good first and then a bad second half, i.e. against Wolfsburg, Dortmund etc.)...
The change since Christmas is that we are now trying to play football.
We're surely playing better now. However, I don't think we played that badly before the winter break either (there was a combination of naivity in defence, bad finishing and bad luck ... and of course we didn't have such important guys like Bailly, Galasek & Stalteri - Dante still injured).

Ok, I've checked it now. ;)
Did you manage to see the game or at least some highlights, Naz? I still can't believe that Levels & Brouwers were our match winners (kudos to them!), both players became only 2nd choice when Hans took the job at BP. But now we see that every player is important during a season and shouldn't be off-written! Tobi Levels got his chance when Dorda had serious problems against Hannover ... and is doing a very solid job as LB (which isn't his position). The important 2:1 was his first BL goal. Roel Brouwers came in for the injured Gohouri after 20 minutes ... and played very well, too. Nearby he scored the decisive 3:1. Kudos!
And what a relief to see Rob Friend finally score again after 800 minutes without a goal!
This home win before the derby was crucial, since travelling to Cologne with a 4-points (or even more) lag would have been terrible! We simply have to win our home games, hence ... and with the support of 50,000 fans, it shouldn't be impossible.
Thankfully, it was our matchday ... as Cottbus & KSC lost their games. :) Now let's hope that Bochum & Bielefeld will follow this afternoon...
Here's 2 match reports (in German) with stats & a few player statements:

Congrats, you guys. It really look like you guys will have a chance to get yourselves out of this mess. You had a lot of winnable games on your schedule down the stretch, and this supposedly wasn't even one of them! Lots of six-pointers from this point on, so you really do control your own destiny. Good luck!

Unfortunately, Bochum just managed to get a draw in Leverkusen in spite of being in numerical inferiority during the last 25 minutes (their goalie must have been superb) ... but well, I don't think any Stuttgart fan has a problem with this result. ;)
Important is that Bielefeld didn't manage to beat Frankfurt (0:0 draw).

I had a small talk with your 'darling' Hans-Günter Bruns after the game (he didn't look happy due to the result, though:-) and told him about you being a huge fan of him (at least that made him smile a little bit:-). Unfortunately he didn't have his photocards (pic + signature) available, but told me that they can be ordered via the RWO homepage.

well, Bochum was leading for a pretty long time in that match, so I was actually hoping for them to win so Leverkusen wouldn't leap back over us. I guess them only drawing is a bit better for you guys.

Thank you sooooo much for the "AUTOGRAPHE" man!! He still has that piercing and dedicated look in his eyes,i can still remember how in control he was back in the day...he was like the "ultimate football machine" in terms of efficiency and being productive....jack of all trades, A huge asset to any coach!
And yes TOBI LEVELS,I watched his goal at least 5 times..thats the kind of hunger and persistency i was trying to explain to everyone from the start of the season....for levels to keep on pressing with that play..and maintain focus and pressure even when off-balance and finally place it inside the net,i was speechless....lets see now if we can get some positive momentum and persistency with this win..it could have not come in a better time for us too..away game at koln!

Let's hope for an exciting game and an excited crowd but also one that doesn't cause problems ... from either side. The mess in Hamburg last weekend (I'm assuming regarding St. Pauli-Rostock) made our local news in Columbus. I have some fond memories of games in the old Muengersdorferstadion when I was an exchange student at the Uni Koeln in 1978.

Really? ;) Maybe that's why his team (which consists of mostly German players from the 3rd league) is playing such a good soccer and great season so far. :-)

Yep, hopefully we won't see such scenes from last season this time. At least I haven't heard of any stolen Ultras banners who might be presented in the Cologne fancurve again...
