It's even bitter 2 see the result of the other games, but who cares, we're not far and I hope we will have some consistency, I don't even want to start worrying about next week game...
Can't wait to see the highlights.

Puhhhhhhhhhh!
I was close to getting a heart attack during the last 15 minutes ... especially when Olli missed the 3:1 and we then conceded the equalizer just 1 minute later (totally reminded me of the Hoffenheim game). Thankfully, the shock was immediately followed by a huge will to win the game ... and when Oliver Neuville scored the winner, me & my friend could hear the huge relief & celebrations at Borussia-Park in our room! ;) Thanks to the team for the vital win and for not spoiling the carnival weekend & week to us fans (now I can enjoy tonight's carnival party:-)! However, despite the huge relief, I also have to criticize the fact that we almost threw away the precious 3 points after the interval due to typical negligences. Damn, when will our players finally check that they can't afford sitting back after a lead??
Btw: What superb goals from Baumi, Marko & Olli! And nice to see that we managed to prevent Schlaudraff & Forssell from scoring.
Here's 2 match reports (in German) with stats:

He played.

Actually, I'm pretty content with the results from Karlsruhe & Bielefeld. Only the Cottbus result (well, it's typical that Bremen lose once again against one of our direct opponents) is a little shocker...
Have a nice weekend all.
PS: Let's enjoy a nice song after this crucial win. :-)

The fact that we had to win this game and we did,Plus our two previous draws brings a dim light of hope so far in the 2nd half of the season.....however we could have easily given up 2 points at home today also leaves a big question mark which is scary!
Bonhof joining Hans meyer must be a massive boost for us, But is there enough time for them to combine and be productive as a team remains to be seen considering the small amount of time we have ...i just hope we can manage to slowly climb the table!
The teams above us are also fighting very hard, but one thing thats certain is the fact that if we survive this season am quite sure we would be heading the right direction next season with bonhofs vision and experience and Meyers coaching:D

It was great to get the three points, however yet again Meyer must answer questions why Marin was taken off?
Everybody in the ground could see that Friend should have come off, allowing Marin to keep the ball and run at a tiring and chasing 96 team.
With Olly to poach against a cumbersome back four.
We looked good yesterday when we played with pace and the ball on the floor attributes that are not Friend strengths.

Don't worry, our manager is experienced enough to know what he's doing. Marko played well yesterday, but he wasn't 100% fit and lacks defensive qualities (look at the first Hanover goal) ... so I think it was the right decision to take him off. Rob Friend can keep the ball upfront and assisted the 3:2 scored by exactly that guy who came in for Marin ... so Hans Meyer did everything right. :) Nearby he was so wise to replace the young Dorda, who had serious problems with Stajner, very early in the game.
The fact the crowd at Borussia-Park whistled when Neuville came for Marin, shows that many fans have no clue about tactics. Thankfully, Hans Meyer is cool enough not to get influenced by all those BLÖD readers...

Thanx for the info. Are you maybe one of the British Army members from Rheyd? I know a Celtic/Gladbach fan from Stoke who lived there many years and attended almost all games at former Bökelberg.

Back in touch
Though Borussia remain bottom of the table after the 3-2 home win over Hannover 96, they have reduced the gap to 15th place and Bundesliga safety.

Some of our fohls here complain about why MARIN is switched with Neuville in many games! I personally think its not a bad tactic,of course i would like to have them both on the filed...but neuville is kindda some sort of Rudi Voller for us...b/c of injuries and lack of playtime of course he isnt as agile anymore..but he has a killer instinct to score goals in a split second...and bringing him on the pitch opens up a whole different dimension to our game, better question would be..why cant we protect a 2 goal lead...and then bring in neuville to just put the final nail in the opponents coffin!
Anyway as i have said many times in the past right now its about the collective teams effort to fight to the last seconds..and somehow come away with a point from every game...am sure meyer and bonhof will find the ultimate structure for us..once we pass the danger zone,i dont think even roberto is being utilized to its full-potential for reasons that may not be obvious to the fans..because colautti is also a very dangerous striker!
Our up coming game with hertha is huge and if we can come back with points from that game...i think we would finally settle down a bit and get more effective as every game goes by...would really be a shame to throw this semi descent start to the season away.....just like the hoffenheim game which we should have bagged all 3 points..or even the hannover game which it came down to the final minutes:rolleyes:

I wonder if our team is allowed to paticipate in the Carnival Monday parade after the win from Saturday or if the guys have to be at training...
Here's Hans Meyer's carnival reveller slogan:
"Marko played very well. I didn't understand why he got booed by our fans when he left the pitch."

Especially not the own manager (who thankfully is a strong personality and doesn't get influenced by all those "wannabe managers"). But well, what can you expect of today's fan culture (which can easily get manipulated by the yellow press)...

No idea. Maybe just write an e-mail to his current club (he's Sportdirektor there)...

His team is facing my local club in 2 weeks at Playmobil stadium in Fürth (it's the so-called "shamrock duel") ... so who knows, perhaps I meet him if he makes the trip. :)
does he even live close to u??
Well, do you think that more than 500 km's is a close distance...? :-))
Now definitely "tschuess".

Yeah, that was pretty standard in the 1970s and 1980s. I ran into quite a few English Gladbach fans at the two games I went to in 1978 (Braunschweig and Liverpool) in my student days in Koeln.

Naz, if I should really meet him in Fürth (not sure whether I get to see him after the game and whether he'll even make the trip), I'll ask him for an autograph and a photo for you. Ok? ;)
