Finally some good news:

Callsen-Bracker and Dante back on board

Whenever international matches are scheduled on the FIFA match calendar the BORUSSIA PARK training ground takes on a much less crowded air.

And then bad news again: The BLÖD-Zeitung obviously can't stop its ugly campaign against Hans Meyer, spreading around lies (allegedly, all players had signed a letter in which they criticized the winter break 'demission' of those 7 players who had to leave us ... what is simply not true!).

http://www.borussia.de/de/borussia_news_detail,185,0,newsid-168464.html

If our representatives don't finally prevent the BLÖD from agitating against Meyer and BMG, this season will probably end like that from 2 years ago. What a ********ing shit paper!!

And Marko Marin starts pissing me off in the meantime with his growing "airs and graces"! If he badly wants to leave us to Hamburg, he can go! When will he finally realize that the club's fate is more important than personal things? Before he starts criticizing the manager for taking him off after 60 minutes, he should better ask himself for the reason! If he has a look at the "Torfabrik" ratings, he'll find it out...

I should be seeing Bradley play tonight as the US-Mexico match is here in Columbus (I can see the stadium light towers from my office window)--that is, of course, if the weather does not intervene as we are expecting high winds (up to 100 kmph!) with possible rain at game time. I'll be wearing my new Borussia rain coat tonight and my Rob Friend autographed hat (picked up on the auction site that BMG works with).

I think that ROB FRIEND must play with a second striker. He's too slow to play alone with 2-3 opposite defenders and Marin-Matmour doesn't support well.
So i will see a 4-4-2 with Friend-Neuville or a 4-3-3 with Colautti. Against Bremen Roberto has a great chance to show his potential.

Come on!

Cheers from Italy!

FRANCESCO.

Ciao Francesco, sei tifoso di BMG? Dove abiti in Italia? Benvenuto qui! :)

About Rob: He's actually the typical box striker for a 4:3:3 and works a lot for the team ... but you're right, he doesn't get enough support from the wings (Marin & Matmour), but also misses too many chances. I don't mind seeing us play with 2 strikers, but that would mean to abandon the 2nd defensive midfielder ... what is pretty risky for our defence (which is the worst of the whole league). Nearby, we've also played 4:4:2 this season ... and it didn't work either.

About Roberto: Yes, the Bremen away match is his chance to finally score his first 1 Bundesliga goal. Let's hope he can take it...

Una notte piacevole.

PS: I like your nick. :-)) Frank Zappa is simply 'KULT'!!

And I was there!

"Bradley vor--noch ein Tor!"

He had a really good match and I was as proud and happy as you might imagine to be wearing "die Raute" on my rain jacket last night. As he came off the field, I was right above him over the tunnel yelling "Gladbach, Gladbach! So very, very proud to be a Borusse last night....

Now we just have to beat Bremen this weekend.

"Focus on the essential"

Last night Rainer Bonhof was elected onto the club's executive committee as vice-president. Today he faced the media at the BORUSSIA PARK.

Well, if the comeback of a BMG idol during tough times isn't motivation & inspiration enough for our players, they should stop playing.

Have a nice day.

Well, I don't think he saw/heard me, though I tried!!

Glad to see Bonhof is back with BMG. It's good to have former players who understand our history and "mythos" on board. I still remember seeing him score a wonderful free-kick vs Liverpool in April 1978--just a couple weeks after he had done the same thing against the same goalie in a Germany-England match.

It was *not* a night for cameras, sadly. Very bad weather. We were pelted by heavy rain and hail before the game at the gates and then once more with rain before the start. I do not have a water-proof camera, unfortunately. Do look at the BigSoccer blog by Andy Mead, who *did* have a camera and got some really good photos, including the first goal. You should also check the Columbus Dispatch website for more photos (www.dispatch.com (http://www.dispatch.com)) though you may need to be a subscriber for some access.

I watched the game on tv last night and I was definitely most impressed with Bradley. Howard and Hejduk also had a great game, though. Bradley's hustle was unbelievable. He was all over the place from defense to attack.

And I used to think he kept getting picked because he's the coach's son :)

Can the German club supporters comment on the player's letter against Meyer?

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=617783&sec=europe&cc=5901

Is this player "collectivism" at work? Or are they feeling the heat of getting canned if the club doesn't turn it around?

It seems that Hans got him top fit in the winter break...;)

Mikey was very solid against Stuttgart & Hoffenheim, so I'm not surprised about his great game against the Mexicans.

Can you maybe provide me with a link to his 2 goals?

Omg, even soccernet makes use of that BILD bullshit?!

If you want to know my comment on that, please have a look at the previous page of this thread. Almost every BMG fan is pissed off by this "shit paper" called "BILD" (I call it "BLÖD") ... and there's more and more calls for a boycott of this rubbish yellow press paper!

Btw: There was a reason why we had to get rid of some players and sign new ones in the winter break.

Injury concerns for Meyer

Two players have been struggling for fitness this week, and six are away on international duty. But at today's press conference Hans Meyer said he hoped to have them all available for selection.

Despite Werder's current problems, we're the clear outsiders (especially, as we rarely got something at Weserstadion in the past and since the hosts will surely try to reconsile their fans after 2 defeats) ... so I don't expect anything else but a defeat. But who knows, maybe we finally get some fortune and surprise them (as happened in the Vorrunde at Borussia-Park). Hope springs eternal...

Important is that we play with courage and confirm our solid performance from the games against Stuttgart & Hoffenheim. We can't afford losing many games, hence ... so we have to try getting points even against top favourite teams!

Rob Friend will have to miss the game due to his 5th yellow, so we'll probably start with Colautti or even with a duo Colautti/Neuville. It's time for our strikers to finally SCORE (instead of wasting best chances) and prove that they are worth the money they earn...

Thanks for the response.

Here are the highlights:

http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/02/usa-vs-mexico-the-highlights.html

Mike's last shot waqs really pretty wicked. It not only was hard, but dove perfectly into a skip through spot on the wetfield.

Understand he won't arrive until Friday. Probably be tired. The time zone switch as I remember isn't easy, but then again, he's only 21.
