This is not a dig on Steven Goff.

I was just curious if anyboody knew if S. Goff is a full time soccer journalist for the Post, or whether he wears other hats at the Post or with other soccer journalism outlets.

The reason I'm curious is because it seems like the frequency with which he writes articles doesn't really justify a full-time position when compared to other sports writers who write larger articles 3 or so times a week. I guess the same could be said for many other writers at the newspaper who fill smaller or less frequent roles.

Anyway, it appears as if he has got a pretty good gig.

He reads these boards, so I'm sure we'll get it straight from the source soon.

However, if I was his editor, I'd make sure he had a story on soccer at least everyday. They're's way too much high school footbal crap in the Post. (oh yeah, I'd make sure to hire a few more reporters to help him out).

Steven Goff comes and goes as he pleases.

He writes what he want, and answers to no one.

He has a stable of assistants to do his bidding, and frequently writes articles while being serviced by the finest women in DC.

Interns are assigned to Goff upon being hired. If they survive after three weeks, they are offered staff positions. So far, no one has survived.

Ben Bradlee once called him into his office in regard to a story he wrote, Goff listened carefully, took a shot of Ben's whiskey, and then went Ninja on Bradlee's ass.

Steven Goff is the Washington Post.

Good Lord, I'm bored today.

He's part-time at the Post.

His full-time job is a toll collector on the dulles toll road. He spends his late evening stocking the Waldorf Wal-mart (specializing in sporting goods).

Merry Christmas!

Uh, has anyone ever actually seen or met Steven Goff? I'm pretty sure he's Deep Throat to Woodward and Bernstein. He gets all the inside poop from the United and USSF offices. He writes something about Ray being gone and BAM, Ray's packing for sunny Florida. Coincidence? I think not. And what kind of a name is Goff anyways? No boys and girls, this goes way deeper than it seems.

I think it might be Frank DeFords nom de plume as he is a closet soccer fan but can't bring himself to admit it. Or Jim Rome maybe?

As was said earlier and is now being reinforced, MLS off-season sucks...

I am sooooo bored.

Why has my interest in other sports tanked so much...?

Oh yeah, can I say Redskins and Wizards and Caps???
