Does anyone know WHEN Chivas and the MLS will pick a city? Is there an announced deadline?
I'm dying to know.
San Diego would be great, but Houston is seeming more and more likely.
Then there's the whole LA and Chicago nonsense. .
WHEN ARE WE GOING TO KNOW???????

Since they're not coming until 2005, what's the rush.

I agree, there's still plenty of time. But I think they would want to announce the decision at least a year before they start play. That means they would need to come to a decision by early March.
If MLS has learned anything, they ought to have learned what it takes to sell tickets, and just a few newspaper ads and then opening up the stadium won't cut it. They need a grass-roots-like sales campaign and an actual presence in the community. The longer they wait, the less time they'll have to get themselves ready.
