L'OM admit to van Buyten offers:
Marseille claim they have offers on the table from England and Italy for Daniel van Buyten but insist the Belgian international will not leave the club in January.
Manchester United have been long-standing suitors of the central defender and Rio Ferdinand's impending eight-month suspension has sparked fresh rumours of a bid from the Premiership champions.
Newcastle United are also admirers of the stopper while clubs in Serie A, most notably Juventus, are keen to prise van Buyten, who is rated at £15 million, away from Stade Velodrome.
Prso chase heats up:
Portsmouth are believed to be the latest club to declare an interest in Monaco hot-shot Dado Prso.
According to sources in France, Mandaric has been in touch with the Croatian international, who is one of the leading goalscorers in this season's UEFA Champions League.
Fulham had been in pole position to land the tall forward, but his heroics in Europe have heightened the interest in his signature.
Monaco move for Morientes unlikely:
Fernando Morientes has admitted he is unlikely to pursue a permanent move to Monaco once his loan spell from Real Madrid finishes.
The Spanish international striker has enjoyed a prolific time with the Principality outfit since joining in the summer, and has notched seven goals in 16 appearances for Didier Deschamps' side.
Bakari could leave Lens:
Lens striker Dagui Bakari could quit the club during the winter break, and the Felix Stade Bollaert oufit are rumoured to be identifying potential replacements.
Bakari's powerful, imposing style has attracted interest from two un-named Bundesliga clubs, as well as teams in England and Spain.

I can't believe Portsmouth think they have a shot at him. Are they high on drugs ???

van Buyten will be gone in the summer, but I think Serie A could be the call.
What about Jerome Rothen?
Cisse to Liverpool?
Mexes to Roma?

Hi Panic, I was thinking this could be the official French Football rumours & transfers thread, so that people could add whatever news they hear about.
If you could sticky this thread and delete this message, I would appreciate. If you could also change the title to "All French related transfer news" that would also be great.

Smart move !
There were reports he would sign with Sampdoria, then Bazzani would go to Milan.
Seems like a bad move all around.

Mod note, all transfer related threads will be merged here until the end of the transfer period. If a particular transfer spins off it's own discussion into a new thread that's fine, but if you are thinking of starting a thread for that one link to a story about a transfer/potential transfer, just put it here.
Thanks.

Barthez yes, Desailly no for l'OM
Marseille have confirmed that Fabien Barthez will sign for them on Thursday or Friday, but they have no interest in purchasing Chelsea veteran Marcel Desailly.
"The Desailly rumour is totally fake. We will not hire anyone, except of course if we sell."
The only player to leave at the moment is Fabien Laurenti who is signing a four-and-a-half year contract with Ajaccio.

From today's L'Equipe. As usual, take it as a grain of salt.

Yes, I know. I merged Catfish's thread into this one, so the note above was to let him and others know to post here to prevent willfull duplication (that other threads would not be "permitted" if you will). I wrote it out as there have been times where I took Mod moves & things for granted as being obvious, only to find that to some people they are not obvious. Just wanted to say it once explicitly to prevent confusion, that was all.

Cisse confirms (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=287343&cc=5901) that he is going to liverpool in the off season, though he didn't exactly through Houllier a lifeline, did he?
As a result, Houllier's position as manager has been called into question. However, Cisse insists Houllier's position is not key to his Anfield move.
'I still want to go to Liverpool. Gerard Houllier's position makes no difference,' he said.
So, Houllier or not, Cisse wants Liverpool only.

Cisse seems awful confident about the liverpool thing, but why rule out United ? Seems to me that he'd have a better chance getting playing time at Man U. He'd be an ideal backup to Ruud, playing off of Forlan or OleGSols. .. Liverpool seems to already have quite a queue Owen, Heskey (though I think he's a donkey), Sinama-Pongolle, Baros, not to mention Diouf (more of a winger now than anything but still.) Where does anyone see him fitting in there ?

Where is the midfiled help that Bouchet was speaking of acquiring during the mercato ? I've heard nothing. OM are shipping Laurenti to Ajaccio, I've heard rumors of Fernandao going to Saint-Etienne, so it looks to me like we can get somebody coming in ?
