Colorado needs to step it up a little bit. Okay, a lot. What changes do you think you guys need to make?

Jeez, where to start?
- (in a 3-back system) better marking from the defenders.
- (in a 4-back system) better offense from the otuside backs.
- (in any system) better marking in the box.
- Playing with one d-mid instead of two.
- A playmaker that can (will) run.
- A playmaker that will sub off.
- A healthy and not frustrated John Spencer.
- Spencer and Chris Carrieri to start at the same time.
- Someone, anyone, that can win an offensive header in the box.
- An Allocation that isn't wasted.
- More than one bench player that can play offense.
- Fewer cautions for swearing at the refs.
- A coach that can find a way to win with ANY lineup.

I must have written then deleted 30 posts by now, all due to the same depression.
How come every August I start having the feeling that it's time to scrap what the team has and start preparing for next season. Right now I'd guess we'll make the playoffs, but I don't think we'll do very well in them. I hate the seeing the guys lose, but I'd very much like to see some changes that will result in a few short term losses, or at very least identify the type of player(s) we need to go for.

It's all part of being a REAL fan, my friend. It just makes the successes that much sweeter. Try being a Broncos fan all your life and watching them get hammered in Super Bowls. Then when they rose to the top for two years, there was nothing better than that.
If you were weak and just cheered for teams that won all the time, with no regard for loyalty.....well then, you'd be a Man United fan, wouldn't you?

LATE August? If not for July 4th, there's rarely been times for optimism after the month of June.

Or maybe an Arsenal fan. Last time they finished lower than 5th was in 1994/95. Nick Hornby you ain't.

my grandfather was a broncos fan all his life. i remember being a little kid, and hearing him cuss at the TV when the Broncos were getting the crapped kicked out of them. it's funny how sports fans are; i'm the same way with the Rapids. i sit in front of the TV, or in my seat at Mile High, and curse the Rapids...haha. how depressing...oh well, i love the Rapids more than any team in the world, and when the Rapids don't win, i feel sad, or pissed. usually sad.

The Business never said it better:
The football team just lost 4 - 1
feeling bad and feeling glum
to the pub on a Saturday night
30 minutes later and I feel alright

Sheesh, guys, cheer up! Game before last you whooped on the Crew and you hvae some great players to watch in Hendo, Chung, Pablo, & Carrieri, and even Mr. Pib when his hair ain't trippin' him up.
Don't worry, be happy. :)
Heck, at least you have a team to root for. Livin' in San Diego, I have to divide my loyalities between the Rapids, the Quakes and the Burn (all in the same division no less), hedging my bets and not fully embracing any one of them at any one time.
The ONLY thing I'd be depressed about is you're getting rid of those great green uniforms, and next year you're becoming the Raiders of the MLS!!! Aarrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!

yeh, i know. but i'm not going to stop wearing my green and white. the Rapids will be green and white forever, they can change the uniforms a million times, and i will still wear my green and white. i'm not going to buy any black and blue merchandise (if the color change actually goes through).
i know that there is a team in the Czech Republic, BRNO...the fans said that their team changed colors and names all the time, they became fed up, so they came up with the colors themeselves, and a name. FC Boby BRNO. i thought that was really awesome.

To me, the Rapids have been inconsistent since June. One day they can rock their opponents, which is why I am here on your boards taking a look at the moral, and the next game they can play like they should win by just stepping on the field.
Maybe the Rapids are taking teams too lightly and not getting pumped up for games. Who on your team is that inspirational leader? Although pro's should get up for any game, sometimes they really need to get psyched out.
As a quakes' fan, I am not looking past the Rapids for Saturday's game.

I'd say Spenny is the inspirational guy, but he's out injured.
BTW, screw the Oakland Raiders. The Rapids are the Rapids.
