no, but I did see Harkes at the college cup. I was sitting in the front row of the stands and I saw harkes in the broadcast booth. So after the game ended I turned around and screamed his name over and over while holding my DC United scarf proudly above my head. He started waving at me and gave me a thumbs up!

Thought that was cool.

I've seen Harkes and others up there before. Along with a bunch of Freedom players there in the winter as well.

Pretty sure Harkes is there to watch his son play indoor soccer. A few weeks ago I saw him there.

The weird thing was that they were playing! Their goalie also looked familiar...but I'm not sure who it may have been. People had gathered around and were even videotaping the game! ;-)

I had a game there at 11pm, but they were probably gone by then 'cause I didn't see him. Too bad...

Yeah...I had a 10pm game and they were playing in the 9pm slot on Field 2.

There's a quasi-DCU team that plays at that joint. I had a chance to play against them a few weeks ago, but had to decline.

A lot of the MLS players who remain in the area, especially those who were not with DC United, as well as some Freedom players used to have a regular kickaround at the Fairfax Sportsplex. This sounds like they're in a regular league now, which I'd have to figure is only guys that aren't still contracted to MLS -- I can't figure either their contracts or league rules would allow current professionals to play (many leagues have some such stipulation).

So...is Ritchie's contract up with NY?

That was Ritchie. He's on one of the Old Fat Men's (30+) league teams on Monday nights. They're a little too good for our league. I'm glad I don't have to play them.

That's just insane. I wish my dad came home from playing there and was like, "guess what, I played John Harkes tonight."
