Alright, there are two matches remaining before the winter break and both are at home. UEFA Cup match this Thursday and the final match of the Fall / Winter season on Sunday against Valenciennes. We're currently in a tie for
2nd (sounds much better than 4th place to me). What are thoughts about this year's edition of PSG? Do you think we can win the league and take away the crown from the witch, er I mean Olympique Lyonnais? Who should we bring in during the Mercato or should we bring anyone in at all?

So we're a few days from the start of the Winter Market (Mercato) and sitting in 4th place in Ligue1. A few stats

10 Wins / 3 Draws / 6 Losses

24 Goals For (GF) / 17 Goals Against (GA) / +7 Differential

Hoarau (11) Goals # 2 goal scorer in Ligue1

Non Cartons Rouges!!!

We score the bulk of our goals in the first half
0 min - 15 min we've scored 5 goals and conceded 2
15 min - 30 min we've scored 6 goals and conceded 1
the 1 goal conceded in this period of time is amazing and tops in Ligue 1.

on the other hand
30 min - 45 min we've scored 3 goals and conceded 6

Landreau has the highest Average player Rating (using FranceFootball's rating) @ 5.89. The top rated field player is Sessegnon @ 5.67. Nine players have received a rating of 7 or higher this season. Giuly has also gotten a PSG low player rating of 3 from a match - I have no idea what match this was from but it's from France Football / L'Equipe and who knows what mood they were in that day -- LOL :D

My 2 cents on players in a bit

I'll start with Claude Makelele and Ludovic Giuly. Having them on this team is a BIG reason why PSG has been very successful in the first half of the season. Credit must also be given to Charles Villeneuve (Président) for seeing this and making it happen and despite having a limited amount of funds to work with this season. It seems as though alot of things he's touched has turned to Gold or will in the near future. Hoarau's signing last season and Sessegnon has been amazing and all for under 12MEuros (someone correct me if need be). The verdict is still out on Kezman - he's showing flashes and hopefully those flashes will be more consistent in the new year. Seeing how the culture of the club has changed for the better we've benefited from a resurgence in the play of both Peggy Lyundula - looking like the player whom we wanted a few years back. Big Sammy Traore has been my defensive player of the fall with Ceara a very, very close second. He's made of the most of his opportunities on the backline to such an extent that he's starting again and actually is a threat when we attack on notably on corners. Actually as a result of the defense playing very well, Landreau's play in goal has been great and he's definitely one of the better keepers in Ligue1 and in my opinion worthy of a return to Les Bleus but that's another conversation. I'll start calling Chantome- Makelele Version 3.0 because his play continues to remind me of Keke. I hope that we have Chantome signed for awhile because it appears as though we're good hands with him when 'Keke" retires in the next year or two.

I've got more to add and will a bit later. What do you think?

Always been an admirer of PSG (my favorite French team), and the resilence their fans show is amazing.

I'm really happy to see this team performing, and I can't wait to see them again in the new year.

I must say I have been surprised by the PSG defense, as well as two players in particular: Sessengon and Hoarau.

Amazing.

The club has come a long way since Le Guen took over and to reach the final 32 of the Uefa Cup is a momentous achievement after the relegation battle last season.

Cheers to the Le Guen, and the president..

Best wishes for the second half of the season!!

p.s. I feel like Makalele and Giuly have added that extra bit of a winning mentality that was needed at the club. The players are training every day with them, and are starting to feed off of them. As a Serbian, I also hope Kezman flourishes in the second half of the season.. he has been very good in the Uefa Cup, but not in the league. Hope this changes.

Allez PSG!

OH, and the win at L'Om was a joy to behold.
